What’s Happening in Taipei: January Events

Find out all the best events in Taipei this January with my events guide below!

Dear Taipei,

The advent of the new year is always a time which brings mixed feelings. Excitement for all the new experiences to look forward to, a dose of nostalgia for the year just passed, and a bit of trepidation wondering what exactly is in store for the coming year.

None of us know how the year will turn out, and there’s only so much within our control to make it the way we want. I think that’s why I like heading out to events around town so much – it’s a way to inject a bit of proactivity in my life, and put myself out there.

And honestly, I hardly ever regret going out to an event. Even when one turns out to be not as good as I expected, it’ll pay off going in some other way. A prime example of this is how I met some of my closest friends here at – ahem – one of the dullest events I have ever been to!

The point is that if you don’t put yourself out there, you won’t reap the possible rewards that could have come with that experience. Sometimes it’s hard to get motivated to leave the house… especially when all you feel like doing is cozying up in bed. Believe me, I know! So, a little goal of mine this year will be to attend more events and meet more people. I want 2018 to be memorable, and this is probably one of easiest ways to make it so.

What do you think?

If you’d also like to put yourself out there, here are 10+ events to consider going to around Taipei this January. I’ll try to add to this list throughout the month, but feel free to suggest an event yourself by leaving a comment below! Enjoy… and good luck for the coming year!
