Taipei has a great assortment of events this April!
Dear Taipei,
We’ve passed the quarter-year mark now, and so it’s time to get ourselves organized for April. I was happy to discover in my usual hunt for events around Taipei that there seems to be markedly more events on this month than the last!
As usual, I’ve picked out 5 that are the big draw cards for this month. There’s two music festivals (which couldn’t be more different from one another!), an art festival, a major touring band, and a picnic with a twist.

Looptopia Music Festival (April 8-9)

Looptopia is an EDM festival on a grand scale. Treat yourself to a ticket, and you’ll be blessed with access to more than 50 DJs and performers. Tickets are already fizzling out due to high demand, so don’t delay any longer if you’re interested.
Coldplay: A Head Full of Dreams Tour (April 12)

Blink and you’ll miss them, Coldplay is headed to Taipei for one night only this month. Having already kicked off the tour last year, A Head Full of Dreams has already racked up rave reviews from around the world. I’ve seen Coldplay live twice, and in my opinion these guys really know how to put on a memorable show! Avid and casual fans alike will unlikely be disappointed by their talents.
Young Art Taipei (April 14-16)

Young Art Taipei is an a art show held at the Sheraton Grand Taipei Hotel which celebrates the ingenuity and talent of young artists around the world. I try to head to at least one art-related event a month, so when I was really excited when I came across Young Art Taipei. It’s quite a big show so it’s a shame it’s over quite quickly. Definitely one for the diary for those interested in art.
2017 Urban Nomad Opening Freakout (April 15-16)

I can’t hide my love for the events the guys behind Urban Nomad hold. They just have a knack for throwing awesome parties, and I’m certain the 2017 Urban Nomad Opening Freakout will live up to the hype once again. Held on Tiger Mountain, this two-day music festival with 30 bands and DJs is your best bet if you’re looking for some music and chilling the middle of the month.
Vogue Style Picnic Day (April 22)

Vogue Style Day Picnic is one of those events you wished you went to, but you only find out about it after the fact. At least that’s what happened to me last year when it popped up all over my Newsfeed – I was left wondering how the hell I missed news of it all! Well, I’m here to alert you now that this massive picnic event organized by Vogue Taiwan is happening on the 22nd of this month, so get on it if the sound of fashion and food makes you giddy.
