March 2016 Eye Need to Do’s: Passion, Picasso Sculptures, The Unbearable Lightness: The Eighties and Wasteland

Stephen Sondheim’s Passion, a dark tale about a man who falls in love with an ugly woman, inspired by the 1981 Ettore Scola film Passion of Love, is the fifth Sondheim musical to be presented at Theatre du Chatelet.

Picasso. Sculptures
Coming off the blockbuster Picasso Sculpture exhibit at MOMA New York, the show of Picasso’s sculptures is mostly recreated at the Picasso Museum. The exhibition attempts to reunite notable series from the work of Picasso like the Verres d’absinthe (1914) series or the original group of wood Baigneurs (1956).

The Unbearable Lightness: The Eighties
The 1980s was a crucial decade in France for photography and the Centre Pompidou commemorates the important time with a show of 20  dynamic artists  including BazileBustamante, Agnès Bonnot, David Buckland, Ellen Carey, Clegg & Guttmann, Tom Drahos, Jean-Paul Goude, Hergo, Karen Knorr, Elizabeth Lennard, Joachim Mogarra, Patrick Nagatani, Paul de Nooijer, Alice Odilon, Florence Paradeis, Martin Parr, Pierre et Gilles, Présence Panchounette, Alix Cléo Roubaud, and Sandy Skoglund.

Wasteland: New Art from Los Angeles
In conjunction the Thadeus- Ropac Gallery, the Mona Bismarck American Center presents a show of contemporary Los Angeles artists. Curated by Shamim M. Momin of LAND (Los Angeles Nomadic Division) it features the work of artists Edgar Arceneaux, Lisa Anne Auerbach, Math Bass, Mark Bradford, Sam Falls, Daniel Joseph Martinez, Jon Pylypchuk, Fay Ray, Ry Rocklen, Amanda Ross-Ho, Analia Saban, Shannon Ebner/Erika Vogt, and Brenna Youngblood.

New! Eye Prefer Paris Cooking Classes
I am happy to announce the launch of Eye Prefer Paris Cooking Classes. Come take an ethnic culinary journey with me and chef and caterer Charlotte Puckette, co-author of the bestseller The Ethnic Paris Cookbook (with Olivia Kiang-Snaije). First we will shop at a Paris green-market for the freshest ingredients and then return to Charlotte's professional kitchen near the Eiffel Tower to cook a three-course lunch. After, we will indulge in the delicious feast we prepared along with hand-selected wines.

Cost: 195 euros per person (about $210)
Time: 9:30AM- 2PM (approximately 4 1/2 hours)
Location: We will meet by a metro station close to the market
Class days: Tuesday,Wednesday, Thursday,Friday, Saturday, and Sunday
