Hundreds of thousands of people gather every year to enjoy the City of Perth Australia Day Skyworks.
Skyworks is a large community celebration of Australia Day which is held every year around the Swan River culminating in an impressive firework display over the city. The program usually includes a free Entertainment Zone on Langley Park, an impressive Air and Water Show over the river, the indigenous concert Birak at Supreme Court Gardens and the spectacular 30 minute Fireworks finale. Where can I watch the fireworks from?
South Perth Foreshore
Find activities for the whole family happening from 3pm – 7pm at the Coode End of Sir James Mitchell Park, South Perth Foreshore. Bring a picnic or purchase some food and relax as you watch the fireworks overhead
On the River
Own, rent or join a boat cruise to sit back and enjoy the fireworks with the city as your backdrop.
Langley Park
Langley Park can be found on the northern side of the Swan River has loads of activities for the family in the afternoon and early evening and great views of the fireworks. The Langley Park Entertainment Zone kicks off at 3pm.
Kings Park and Botanic Gardens
For the highest viewing vantage point, head to Kings Park for a gold coin donation.

If crowds aren’t your thing, there are lots of other great spots for a view of the fireworks. This list is in no way complete as there are many great spots across this city to catch the fireworks:

- Wanneroo Rd pedestrian bridge, Tuart Hill
- Bardon Park, Maylands
- Point Walter, Bicton
- Deep Water Point, Mt Pleasant
- Heathcote Reserve, Applecross
- Lions Lookout Walk Trail, Lesmurdie
Where ever you end up watching the fireworks from, remember to bring your picnic blanket, sunscreen and hat to enjoy the event throughout the day until the Skyworks in the evening.
The City is also putting on a free shuttle service between the George Burnett Leisure Centre, the City of South Perth Civic Centre and the event zone running every 10 minutes. Various roads will be closed across the city, find out more here.
