Things to do during the August holidays

In Sri Lanka, the month of August is a busy month for every parent since all the schools close for the 3rd semester break. And with the traveler-friendly environment in the country most parents tend to take their children on trip and spend-the-day outings during this time to make their kids’ holiday a special one. This is more of an urban habit nowadays and Sri Lanka being a small island, provides ample weekend getaways which stands close within ones’ vicinity.

Beyond Galle, the coastal belt stretches up to Unawatuna and Thalpe with a series of heart-stealing beaches. And the other most prominent features about Galle are the natural harbor, the national maritime museum and the temple of Shiva.

With so much resourceful holiday destinations around the capital, this trend of going out of town for a holiday is simply good tendency.
