Phi Phi Island

Third most dangerous jellyfish in the world caught by one of the tour guides.

The Viking Cave (Pirate Cave) where locals make a jelly delicacy and bird nest soup.

GoPro Video Footage:

This morning at 7:00 am we left for the full day Phi Phi Island Tour which included the following:

7:30-7:45: Hotel transfer to Asia Marina Pier (Gateway to islands).
9:00:  Depart Asia Marina Pier for Phi Phi Island.
9:45: Monkey Beach - where you get to feed and "play" with the monkey's at their own home. Visit the Viking Cave (Pirate Cave) and sightseeing/swimming around Phi Leh Lagoon, then snorkeling at Loh Sa Ma Bay
12:00: Lunch at the Beachfront Restaurant on Phi Phi Island.
13:00: Visit Maya Bay for relaxation on the beach.
14:00: Swimming, snorkeling, and relaxation on Khai Island.
16:00: Leave Khai Island for return to Asia Marina Pier.

It rained on and off for most of the morning leaving the tour off to a not-so-happy start, but by 11:00 am the sky started to clear and the sun began to shine. Phi Phi Island is such a beautiful island with water filled with natural hues of blue and green, making you wish every beach could be just like it. Hundreds of people from different tours filled the island, which in my opinion completely killed the whole vibe of the beautiful island, but aside from that, the island is beautiful and a must-see when travelling to Phuket along the west-coast.

The monkey's at Monkey Beach were not friendly at all, they were more-so quite frightening if anything and everyone was reminded repeatedly that if a group of monkey's comes running at you, make sure you run straight to the water and don't look back... how reassuring. Overall it was a great experience and I only wish we were given more time with them.

Snorkeling was amazing - The clear water was filled with beautifully colored fish and coral reefs. Everyone on the tour was however warned that an unusually larger than normal amount of jellyfish had been spotted in the area, in particular, the third most dangerous type of jellyfish in the world. So some people were a bit more hesitant on taking a dive into the ocean, so about 50% of the tour remained seated in the speedboat as the rest of us swam. Overall, the tour was great for people of all ages and I would definitely do it again in a heartbeat!
