Minnesota Monday Part 5

Today's Minnesota related post will feature a multitude of things all within my budget, FREE! Check out Part 1 for local eateries. All of these free attractions are in the twin cities.

1. Como Zoo - A cute, non-profit zoo in St. Paul Mn. This zoo was featured in my post from Part 3.

2. Walker Art Center and Sculpture Garden - A place to see beautiful art and the beautiful downtown Minneapolis. This garden is home to the famous Spoonbridge & Cherry fountain sculpture.

3. Minnehaha Falls - Walk along the falls and follow a beautiful trail where you can walk through the water or stay dry by walking on the rocks. I made a post a while back that included Minnehaha and two other great hiking spots in Minnesota. Check it out here. You may even spot a giant turtle like I did!

4. Linden Hills - This location is all about nostalgia for me. Have some ice cream at Sebastian Joe's, eat at Great Harvest Bread Co., or find some cool knick-knacks at Creative Kids Stuffs (I promise you aren't too old, no matter what your age is). However, my personal favorite is Wild Rumpus. This quaint little book store has some really great books as well as cats, chickens, rats, ferrets, chinchillas, birds, and geckos. Some roam free and others you can generally play with if you get the staff to help you. I volunteered here in elementary school once a week and had a blast bathing the ferret and walking the chickens. The small little town of Linden Hills is right next to Lake Harriet where you can walk or bike around the lake and find free outdoor music. Thanks for listening!
