Sri Aurobindo Ashram

Sri Aurobindo Ashram was built in the year of 1926. Known as one of the greatest freedom fighter, Sri Aurobindo Gose had constructed the ashram. After his death, the ashram was managed by a spiritual lady named Mirra Alfassa or fondly called as Mother. She was a spiritual contemporary of Sri Aurobindo. Ashram has been developed into a hub for the fusion of yoga. Spiritual discipline or sadhana at the ashram does not demand any ritual or compulsory practices. Sri Gokilambal Thirukameswarar Temple

Tourists visiting Pondicherry in the month of May or June must pay a visit to Sri Gokilambal Thirukameswarar Temple. The Brahmotsavam festival is celebrated here every year. Celebrations go on for ten days and commences after the appearance of full moon in order to seek the blessings of Almighty. The temple is quite crowded as many worshippers come to this temple from different parts of India. People can witness 15 meter massive chariot, decorated beautifully during the procession.

Sri Prithyangara Devi temple

Sri Prithyangara Devi temple is also one of most frequented temple in Pondicherry. Prithyangara Devi’s sudai sculpture is around forty feet in height .This sculpture is clearly visible from a distance of one kilometer. The main temple is placed under the sudai sculpture. Entrance of the temple is completely decked up with elegant sudai sculptures on both its sides. Visitors enter this temple through a very narrow entrance gate.
