In order to boost the Tourism, the Government authorities have planned to take exhaustive steps to improve the tourism infrastructure facilities. Welfare and Tourism Minister “P. Rajavelu” has informed that the first task is to inaugurate the Puducherry Centre under the Indian pavilion. It is planned to launch the centre in World Tourism Market in London. 

Tourism and Hospitality are considered to be the two primary service sectors in India. Also, India is the 11th largest tourist destination in the Asia- Pacific Region.One of the greatest news is that the French President “Francois Hollande” has announced that the country is going to invest around 2 billion in India for the development of top Indian cities including Pondicherry.

The makeover of the plan includes heritage sites, historical buildings, waste management, water treatment, green energy, sea water erosion and much more. Apart from this, the Chunnambar Boat House will be having their new house boats, eco- cottages on Paradise Island and e-rickshaws in the Boulevard area. A beautiful new lighthouse worth 10 crores is going to be constructed in a prime area. Various effective measures are planned and organized in a good manner.
