Every destination follows a different Food Tradition for the Christmas season. Are you bored with the same Christmas roasts, chocolates and pudding? Greenland Holiday Traditions

In Greenland, the people follow a similar tradition just like ours. One of the most exotic dishes that they prepare during this season is Mattak. It is actually prepared using a raw whale skin and added spices. Another traditional dish is the Kiviak. A small bird named auk is wrapped in a skin and buried for several months. When the Christmas is nearing, people take up the bird from this buried place and cook it.

Swedish Holiday Traditions

People in Sweden love to prepare a lot of traditional roasts. It is a custom for the people to serve julboard where many different meals will be present in the buffet. The meal will have different varieties of fish, cold sliced meats, pickled cucumbers, cheese and potatoes. Swedish people will have heavy meals throughout the day.

Spanish Christmas Traditions

Spanish Christmas celebrations will be loaded with tasty sweets. People will indulge eating the famous marzipan, turron and nougat. Most of their sweets are prepared using honey, sugar, egg white and nuts. Food plays a major role in Spain during the Christmas and New Year season. You can find a lot of interesting sweets in the street shops in the city.

Japan Christmas Traditions

Japan has about only one percent of Christians. But, that doesn’t mean the people in the place refrain themselves from Christmas celebration. It is a traditional culture for the Japanese people to feat KFC chicken on the holiday season. Christmas cakes are pre ordered by the families a month before. Sponge cakes are available in varied shapes and colours.
