Ayurveda Panchakarma Treatments

Ayurveda is the ancient Indian medicine practice that is known as a rare blend of spirituality and the basic Body science and this is a process of achieving a perfect combination of mind and body. The body gets rid of all the toxins that happens to be accumulated in it overtime and causes diseases to make the body severely unhealthy. In Ayurveda, the practitioners work basically on one factor, to achieve a perfect balance of five basic elements that human body happens to be consisting of. And when the said balance is achieved, it leads to the removal of harmful toxins from the body and thus leads towards a sound body and mind.

Panchakarma is a very essential part of the Ayurveda treatments and primarily works on the basic principles of Ayurveda to achieve perfect balance of elements in a human body by removing all toxins. Even the literal meaning of Panchakarma is ‘Five actions’. Its usually a five step process which are done in a planned manner and quite delicately. The rising pollution in the air and the bad food habits causes a very harmful accumulation of toxins in the body thus causing very unhealthy body. Panchakarma helps in re-achieving that perfect balance and there are so many therapies used in Panchakarma but the basic premise remains more or less the same. The main therapies included in the process are Vamana, Virechana, Vasti, Nasya and Raktamokshana. These are known to be the main therapies and there are many other that underwent based on many different aspects.

Vaman is a very old therapy which is generally used to decongest the chest and along with it, to purify the gastro-intestinal tract of the human body. It is ardently believed in Panchakarma, or any other practice for that matter, that accumulation of cough leads to an upset stomach and which in turn many doesn’t allow human body to function properly. The many problems that Vaman usually takes a pretty good care of are cough, Sinusitis, Acne, acid reflux, indigestion among a few others.

Virechan works on the fact that full body purification is needed in order to have a perfect body and skin and this therapy works on that sole principle only as it does quite nice job of purifying the body. Pitta is the main centre of attention for this therapy and it is used in the Panchkarma to get rid of some serious to non serious ailments such as Joint disorders, hyperacidity, intestinal cleansing, Asthma among many others.

Nasya does a fine job of removing the excess cough from the head and nose area and is known as the most demanded therapy for western medicine has yet to come up with a sure shot treatment of one of the most prevalent chronic ailments- sinusitis. Sinusitis is an infection which comes along with symptoms as headaches, sore throat, indigestion and fevers. Other ailments treated by Panchakarma includes nasal allergies, migraines, premature whitening of hair among many others.

Panchakarma process with the combination of Yoga and Meditation works wonders for the body. One must get a Panchakarma done atleast once in 2 to 3 years.
