Zakir Hussain Rose Garden
Zakir Hussain Rose Garden is largest Rose Garden in Asia and 1600-1700 different species or roses as well as several fountains. It contains a large number of beautifully carved out lawns and flowers beds. India's former President, Zakir Hussain, the garden was established in 1967 under the guidance of Chandigarh's first Chief Commissioner late Dr. M S Randhawa. The medicinal trees planted here are bel, bahera, harar, camphor and yellow gulmohar.
At the end of February and beginning of March, a big festival known as Rose Festival, is celebrated at this garden every year.



How to reach
 Dr. Zakhir Hussain Rose Garden is very easy once you have reached Chandigarh. Getting a cab or Taxi from the airport.
Chandigarh by Road
The Distance between Delhi and Chandigarh is about 243 Kilometers and it is only 264 kilometers from Amritsar. The main national highways which connect to the city are NH21 and NH22.


Chhatbir Zoo
Chhatbir Zoo is also known as the Mahendra Chaudhary Zoological Park, located at a distance of 17 km from Chandigarh and 55 km from Patiala. It is situated close to Zirakpur, in India and is a hub of a large number of variety of birds, mammals and all another animals. 



The lion safari is the most interesting part of zoo and in the Chattbir Zoo, the Royal Bengal Tiger is main attraction part. The animals are kept in open environment so that their behavioral and physical needs can be met. It is biggest zoo of Panjab where you can see White Tigers, Leopards, Jaguars, Monkeys, Elephants and lot more.


The Chhatbir Zoo is the perfect place for picnic and Children come here for a fun-filled day and also learn a lot about the different animals by carrying out research on them.

Zoo Residents
The Chhatbir zoo has about 950 animals and birds belonging to about 85 species housed.
Visiting Days / timings: The Chandigarh zoo is open six days a week. It is closed on Monday.
Zoo Hours: 9.00 AM to 5.00 PM


Zoo Holidays: 15th August, 2nd October & 26th January.
On the road of Chandigarh-Zirakpur-Patiala route, this zoo is located 17 kms away from Chandigarh. Private Vehicles are not allowed inside the zoo.

Mata Mansa Devi Temple
Mata Mansa Devi Temple at Panchkula is a symbol of Himalayan culture and faith and situated on the foot hills of Shivalik.It is an epitome of age old tradition of ‘Shakti’ worship in northern India. Maharaja Gopal Singh of Manimajra constructed the present main temple of Shri Mansa Devi. At a distance of 200 meters from the main temple is the Patiala temple.


Located at a distance of about 10 km from the Chandigarh bus terminus and 4 km from the Panchkula, and another way is local buses or auto rickshaws.


Chandi Devi Temple
The temple of Mata Chandi is approximately 15 km from Chandigarh. The city of Chandigarh derives its name from this temple Chandi Mandir. There is a railway station also named Chandi Mandir.


Gurudwara Nada Sahib
Nada was a small village in Patiala State. After his victory on Mughal, Guru Gobind Singh stayed at this place. Nadu Shah, a follower of Guruji welcomed and served Guruji. Guruji blessed Nadu Shah by saying “due to your services this place will be famous by the name of Nada Sahib”.
