Mount Abu- Hill Station Near Jaipur




Mount Abu

Mount Abu-only hill station is located the Sirohi district in the Aravalli Range of Rajasthan. The name Mount Abu refers to the mythical snake Arbuda who saved the life of Lord Shiva’s sacred bull and Nandi, thus named as Arbudaranaya that means the ‘forests of Arbuda’. Mount Abu is surrounded by lakes, rivers, forests and waterfalls with its highest point being ‘Guru Shikhar’. It is important
place in the Hindu mythology since the Vedic period and is referenced in the Puranas as the place where the sage Vashishta retired.

The distance between Jaipur and Mt Abu is approx 476 km. The convenient and fastest way to reach from Jaipur to Mt Abu is to take taxi/cab from Jaipur to Mt Abu.





Dilwara Temples

Dilwara Jain Temples is one of the most beautiful Jain Temple known for its extraordinary architecture and superior to the Taj Mahal, built between 11th to 13th centuries AD. The complex of this temple consist of five major sections devoted to five Jain trithankaras: Shri Mahaveer Swami Temple - devoted to Lord Mahaveer the 24th Tirthankara of Jain's, Shri AdiNath Temple - dedicated to Shri Adinath Ji - The first Jain trithankar, Shri ParshavNath Temple - built by Mandika, Shri Rishabdaoji Temple - This temple is known as Pittalhari/Peethalhar temple because most of the statues are built using ‘Pittal’ (Brass Metal), built by Bhima Shah, a minister from Gujarat, Shri NemiNathJi Temple  - built by two brothers known as Tejpal and Vastupal.  Dilwara Jain Temples are open from 12 P.M. to 5 P.M. for tourists.



The Wildlife Sanctuary

The Wildlife Sanctuary Forest situated between the Aravalli Mountain, full of floral beauty and an evergreen forest. It contains various species of flora and fauna. The rare species are sambhar, bear, common mongoose, jungle cat, and wolf. These forests are also said to be the home of approx 250 species of birds with special one is the grey jungle-unique area.




 Nakki Lake

Nakki Lake was dugg by Gods or Devtas using their nails or nakh that's why the name Nakki Lake - Indian artificial lake granted a huge financial boost. Nakki Lake is the perfect place to spend your evening with your partner, friends and family. The lake surrounded with mountains, gardens and rock formations, a very good location for photography and a nice place for picnic with friends and family. This place is famous due to mahatma Gandhi’s ashes were immersed here.






Gurushikhar
 
Gurushikhar the highest peak of Mount Abu Situated at a height of 1722 meters from the sea-level, If you are traveling the beautiful Mount Abu, you should visit to Guru Shikhar-home to many beautiful and historic temples. Must visit the temple of Guru Dattatreya- Brahma, Vishnu and Siva.
