5 ways to make most of the Singapore Grand Prix 2016

Before we tell you of all you can do alongside the Singapore Grand Prix, let’s see if you know these facts about the race! The Formula 1 Singapore Grand Prix is the world’s first night race. It is also the only street race in Asian Grand Prix history. Another fact that any traveller aspiring to visit Singapore should know – the fastest way to book your Singapore trip is VEHO, try it out won’t you? You do know that the Grand Prix in 2016 is on 16,17 and 18th of September right?!

Here are five things to do when you are in Singapore for the Grand Prix.

1. Party along the Marina Bay Circuit

The Marina Bay Circuit is huge and has four racing zones. The Grandstand is where you would go if you are a serious racing addict. But if you want to be moving around, then you would take the Combo ticket packages that allow you to walk around between zones. Don’t forget, Zone 4 is where the most happening concerts are scheduled to be held. There is a concert at the end of every day of racing, where stars like Kylie Minogue are set to perform. Get to your vantage points early if you want to have a good time.

2. Birds Eye view of the race

Check if your Grand Prix ticket includes rides on the Singapore Flyer, that sits in the middle of the circuit. If you are lucky to get a ride when the race starts, there is no place like the flyer to enjoy it from! No tickets to the race? No worries, have a drink and watch the race from the many bars located at a height – like the Me@oue or 1-Altitude. Great tip huh?

3. Off Track events

The Amber Lounge is where you get to see the F1 drivers, supermodels and jet-setters from across the world. If you manage to get a pass here, you will be hobnobbing with the who’s who of Formula one prior to the race. Post the races, the Podium Lounge is where the action continues – fashion shows with the racing teams, celebrities and more!

4. Adventure along the sides

Take a break from watching the races. Get some adrenalin pumped and go ziplining at Sentosa or ride the waves at Wavehouse Sentosa. Want more? Try Reverse Bungee at Clarke Quay, not for the timid though. There’s a whole lot of adventure waiting for you at Sentosa. Want to know what else, read here.

5. Food and Arts adventure

Walk through the Racing zones and take a recce of the food available, no doubt this is the best place and time to sample the variety of local food. We also have a recommended menu for the day if you are in Singapore, read this for a virtual gastronomic tour! If you are lucky, you might be part of a Food Stories pop up restaurant – a theatrical five course dinner featuring top local chefs. The Singapore International Festival of Arts (SIFA) also has programmes in September – it’s a great way to experience Singapore’s artistic moments through theatre, dance and music.

So are you all set to pack the bags and race to Singapore? Just send us this note and we’ll do the rest!
