Lluc Monastery

The Lluc Monastery is also known as the  Santuari de Lluc. It is an important place of pilgrimage on the island. Lluc is believed to be the son of a local farmer who found a wooden figurine of the Virgin Mary in the woods. He gave it to the local church. But even after giving it to the local church, it kept re-appearing back in the same place where he had found it. This eventually led to the construction of the sanctuary in that very place.
