Must do things while visiting Murcia in Spain

Murcia is a beautiful town located just close to Costa Blanca near the Segura river in Spain. Quite known for its fertile soil and tradition in agriculture, the land is rich in flora. With a very pleasant climate and cold breeze, Murcia can be visited any time during the year. The town has got some good sandy beaches to enjoy the weekends, cosy nightlife and amazing shopping experiences.

Things to do in Murcia

1. Take a walking tour at Murcia Cathedral

Built during the 17th century, is this famous church located in Murcia, Spain. Take a walk through the corridors and admire the stunning designs that have carved back in the 17th century. The architectural design here shows fine workmanship and artisanship.

Spain experiences a terrific summer between the months of June and August. With scorching heat whooping you, the best way to have fun is to spend some time at the beach. The next best alternative would be to spend some time in the garden, take a picnic and have a relaxed evening. Take a nice long walk, during the evening and chill next to a cool oasis that is on the opposite of the river inside the garden. 3. Murcia Archaeological Museum

If you are a history geek or archaeological buff, you should definitely visit the Murcia Archaeological Museum. A small trip here will teach you a lot the city of Murcia and its heritage. Explore the various artefacts that are exhibited showing the Moorish and Roman culture.

Open hours: The museum is open on all days of the week except Monday. It is open between 10 AM – 2 PM and 5 PM – 8 PM.

4. Monteagudo Castle

Located little on the northeastern side of Murcia is the Monteagudo Castle. Over 800 years in age, the castle acted as a defence fort for close to 200 years. As soon as you enter the castle, you will be able to see tall and large statues on the walls. The castle has been the residence to Alfins after the Moors lost the war.

Open hours: The castle is open on all days of the week except Monday. It is open between 9:30 AM – 2 PM and 5:30 PM – 7 PM.

5. Almudi Palace

Almudi Palace locally called as Palacio del Almudi, is a magnificent construction in the city of Murcia. With beautiful columns built in Tuscan style, it an absolute delight to walk amidst those gigantic structures.

Open hours: The palace is open all days between 10 AM – 5 PM.
