Planning Hack - 4 Best Times to Visit Walt Disney World

One of the biggest questions I get as a Disney travel planner is "what time of year should we visit Walt Disney World?" I give clients my suggestion on the four best times to visit Walt Disney World, and I've visited during each of these times. I've also visited outside of these dates and I've concluded that these times of the year have more benefits than other times.

If you're going to spend the money, time and effort to plan the perfect vacation, it's worth it to go during one of these times.

1. Late January - If you don't like the Florida heat, this is the perfect time to go. Also, the Epcot International Festival of the Arts is happening during this time. The temps can  be unpredictable so make sure you pack a variety of clothing options and layers. Swimming is hit-or-miss in January. Crowd levels and resort room prices are low to moderate.

2. Early May - It's hot, but the summer heat hasn't fully arrived. This is the sweet spot between spring break and summer vacation crowds. The prices are still low to moderate and you can enjoy the Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival.

3. Late August and September - If you're looking for the lowest crowds and prices (except for Labor Day Weekend), this is the time to visit! You'll most likely need mid-day pool or air conditioning breaks because it's very hot and humid. We love to use personal fans and cooling towels between rides. The parks are amazing at night, so the best time to do those attractions with outdoor queues is after dark.

4. *My favorite time* is November! - Before and after Thanksgiving, of course! Airfare, room rates and crowds are extremely high during the holiday week. The first 2 weeks of November are lovely. The weather's usually perfect (the end of hurricane season can bring rain) but the Christmas decorations are up, Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party has started, Epcot's International Food & Wine Festival is still going on, and the prices are good too. The last week of November into the first week of December is an equally good choice.

I know that these times are during school but, luckily, most schools are understanding about children missing days of school for family vacations. After all, Disney can be very educational as well!
