Private Events at Disney Springs - Homecomin'

Did you know you can host Private events all around Walt Disney World?  We recently had a Disney Fairytale Wedding and chose to host a rehearsal brunch through Chef Art Smith's Homecomin' at Disney Springs (separate from Disney Fairytale Weddings, so anyone could host a large party event here!)  We had about 50 people between our families and wedding party, and they gave us a semi-private space on the patio with several large tables so people could mix and mingle with other guests, and it was a beautiful day outside for it.

First, the team at Homecomin' was amazing to work with.  They were so responsive and answered all of my random questions leading up to our event.  We had our brunch on a Saturday morning at 10:30am and had until 12:30pm.  We felt like we got so much for the value we paid per person!  Our server was a rockstar, really just above and beyond for our group.  But of course the main star was the food.  Everything was Served family style and we picked our menu from a set private party list (but everything we wanted was on it anyway so there was no concern there.)

First, our guests were able to order anything from the drink menu they desired, the beverage menu wasn't limited at all for our group as far as we know which was a ton of fun with moonshine options and mimosas for days.

Then, our meal started with biscuits as an appetizer. Our friends are huge biscuits and gravy fans, so I knew this had to be our starter and it set the bar pretty high for the rest of our meal.

Our price point included three entrees (family style) for our guests to enjoy.  We opted for the Short Rib Hash, French Toast, and then of course had to do the famous Chicken and Donuts.  First, the short rib hash was full of flavor and texture and the eggs were so fluffy and good on their own too.  Then the French toast looks so unassuming, but was a rock star of its own.  It was just a really great basic French toast.  Perfect for the kids, vegetarians and picky eaters of all types.  But the true all-star was that chicken and donuts.  I'm still dreaming about that food, it was just such a great combo of sweet and savory.  The chicken was crispy and the donuts fluffy.  This was my favorite dish of the day but I know a lot of people really loved all three and there was no consensus on overall top, it was just all great.

French Toast: Thick slices of griddled bread dusted with powdered sugar and served with spiced cane syrup

Chicken and Donuts: Chef Art’s famous fried chicken served with house-made sugar doughnuts

We also had sides of fruit and grits.  The fruit was probably the only disappointing item.  It was just mostly a bowl of melon.  It was fine, but paled in comparison to everything else.  The grits though, WOW they were cooked perfectly, and full of cheesy goodness.  I definitely took those leftovers home and ate them for breakfast a few more times throughout our week-long trip.

What these pictures can't convey is the sheer amount of food Homecomin' gave us.  We couldn't possibly have eaten it all.  And again, our server was amazing and brought us to-go boxes and we packed them up and divvied out the leftovers between those going back to the resorts to be enjoyed later.  They didn't rush us out at all despite the fact that I'm sure they were getting busier as the day went on.  We had a blast hanging out on the lovely patio, enjoying the beautiful Florida day and each others company.  If I ever had a large gathering at Walt Disney World in the future, I wouldn't hesitate to book this brunch again!
