You Must Be This Tall to Ride...Walt Disney World Edition

Tall enough to ride Slinky Dog Dash!
There are certain milestones in a person's life that everyone looks forward to; when you're old enough to drive a car, when you graduate from high school or college and when you're tall enough to ride Space Mountain. I know I can't be the only person who counts being tall enough to ride Space Mountain as a major milestone!

Walt Disney World is a vacation destination the whole family will enjoy but there are some attractions that aren't meant for little ones. These attractions have specific height requirements for guests, meaning they must be the specified height in order to experience the attraction. If you're traveling with little ones, it's important to familiarize yourself with the ride height requirements so you know which attractions your little ones can and can't ride, based on their height.

Magic Kingdom

  • 32 inches - Tomorrowland Speedway (54 inches if they want to drive)
  • 35 inches - The Barnstormer
  • 38 inches - Seven Dwarfs Mine Train
  • 40 inches - Big Thunder Mountain Railroad
  • 40 inches - Splash Mountain
  • 44 inches - Space Mountain

Epcot

  • 40 inches - Mission: SPACE
  • 40 inches - Soarin' Around the World
  • 40 inches - Test Track

Disney's Hollywood Studios

  • 32 inches - Alien Swirling Saucers
  • 38 inches - Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run
  • 38 inches - Slinky Dog Dash
  • 40 inches - Star Tours - The Adventures Continue
  • 40 inches - The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror
  • 40 InchesStar Wars: Rise of the Resistance
  • 48 inches - Rock 'n' Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith
You'll find height requirements posted outside each attraction with a helpful place to check your height.

Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park

  • 38 inches - Kali River Rapids
  • 40 inches - Dinosaur
  • 44 inches - Avatar Flight of Passage
  • 44 inches - Expedition Everest - Legend of the Forbidden Mountain

All other attractions at Walt Disney World are available to guests at any height. Remember, even though your child may be Tall enough to ride, the ride might still be too intense or scary for their comfort level.

Now that I'm tall enough to ride all of the attractions (woo hoo!), I find myself measuring my children and exclaiming "you're tall enough to ride !" whenever they hit those various height requirements.

Do you measure your children based on if they're tall enough to ride a certain attraction at Disney World? Do you have a fond memory of finally being tall enough to ride an attraction? Let us know in the comments.
