If you're looking for a casual dining experience after a long day touring the parks, Jake's American Bar is a great choice! Located at the Loews Royal Pacific Resort, Jake's American Bar is available for lunch or dinner and serves a variety of bar favorites.
This full-service bar pays homage to the fabled South Seas explorer, Jake McNally, whose seaplane you can see floating in the resort's lagoon. They serve appetizers, entrees and island cocktails like Jake's Margarita or the Island Man Tai. If you prefer beer, they also have Craft Beers, Local Brews and Draft Beers available.
On our recent visit, we opted to order a few items to share. We ordered the Homemade Pretzel Rods, Jake's Hot Wings and a Cheese Pizza. Jake's Hot Wings were our absolute favorite! They're served with carrots, celery and blue cheese, and the sauce on the wings was great. Just the right amount of spice for us. We're big fans of wings so we're a little picky but these did not disappoint.

We also really enjoyed the Homemade Pretzel Rods. They came with tangy mustard and four cheese porter fondue. You can't go wrong with dipping a pretzel in mustard or cheese! I actually liked the tangy mustard more than the cheese fondue which I found surprising. Both were enjoyable and I found myself alternating dips between the two options.

The Cheese Pizza was just okay. Out of the three items, it was our least favorite. It's hard to go wrong with mozzarella cheese and marinara sauce but this pizza was nothing to write home about. It was good but not great.

You can make reservations at Jake's American Bar through OpenTable by accessing the link on the Universal Orlando website or through the OpenTable app. When we visited, we walked up and were able to get a table right away so don't feel like you need to make an advance reservation. If you have a large party or really want/need to dine here, go ahead and make a reservation to be safe. Universal Dining Plans are not accepted at this restaurant so plan accordingly.
Don't want to dine in the restaurant? Jake's has got you covered! You can place a pickup order and bring the food back to your room or dine al fresco by the pool. Food service is available until 1 hour before close so double check the hours of operations before you place your order. Jake's is currently open Monday through Sunday 11:00AM - 12:00AM but times vary so check before you visit.
