On this colorful occasion of Holi, we present you a list of Essential Safe things to do this Holi :

  1. Wear full sleeved clothes and apply mustard oil/ coconut oil/ olive oil/ Vaseline over your entire body on the night before and the morning of Holi, that helps removing the colors easily.
  2. Use Herbal and natural colors like turmeric, tea leaves, henna, marigold flowers as they can they don’t harm your skin much.
  3. Drink lots and lots of water as skin tends to get dehydrated with the use of chemicals so the hydration should be replenished.
  4. Make use of hat or caps to protect your hair from being colored with hard-to-rinse dyes.
  5. If any irritation develops after the use of colors, wash the area with cold water and apply calamine lotion and a good moisturizer.
  6. After Holi celebrations, wash your hair with a mild shampoo and lemon juice to prevent dryness and it also takes care of any infection. Use of over use of shampoo can cause dryness to your hair.
  7. One of the safest things to do is to tie your hair and reduce the damage because of colors.
  8. A transparent nail polish can take care of your nails, never rub your skin while removing colors and a facial cleanser is a better choice instead of a soap.
  9. If possible avoid going outside your home, at least for the peak hours of celebration. The premises of your home ensure that you are safe from pouncing hooligans, even friends who can be a little rough on the day.
  10. Take a bath much later after the entire Holi celebration is over. Taking frequent baths, washing the face again and again, will ruin your skin. You will also lose hair, for too much soap/shampoo has a drying effect.
