Travelling as a guy (Weekend Business Trip 1-3 days)

Location:

Worldwide.

Let me start with the fact that I am not a guy but do have a brother and male friends that I am close to. Travel, especially air travel limits a man’s  dressing option.  Dressing can be done on the go, however, it just takes the right clothes,  the right luggage and careful preparation.

Though I am not a fashion guru, I am going to give a three part series on how a guy should park (specifically for business trips) and I will start with :

The weekend trip (1-3 days without laundry).
For this one,  your goals are simple.  Just look great for two or three days and most importantly feel comfortable with ‘trying too hard’.

Wear in Transit.
1. Business Suit or blazer/ sports jacket.
2. Dress slacks (if not wearing a suit).
3. Leather shoes (loafers preferred & are easier to slip off at security).
4. Cotton dress shirts (avoid synthetics which can get sweaty on long trips)
5. Belt to match shoes.
6. Socks to match trousers.
7. Underwear of choice.

Remember to slip a necktie if needed in your jacket pocket so you can put it on shortly before landing or in an airport restroom so you can look your bedt when you meet whoever is picking you up.

In your bag:
1. 2-3 cotton dress shirts.
2. Undershirts as desired.
3. Neckties as needed.
4. Toiletries in a zipped travel kit or a ziploc bag (they always do come in handy)
5. Pocket squares for each jacket /suit day (but I think this would depend on your sense of fashion)
6. One pair slacks/chinos /khaki/dark jeans.
7. Socks to match trousers.
8. Underwear.

You can choose interchangeable clothes that complement each other well.  The key here is to not over pack. The more casual travellers can skip the suit entirely,  wear a sports jacket on the plane and pack a sweater as an alternate.
