5 Big Realizations Living as an Expat in Japan

After four years of Living here in Japan, I’m sharing 5 realizations / observations of what it’s like to live here as an expat, in no particular order.  1. I’ve loosen up on how I guard my belongings because it’s safe to do so in Japan. One time I was about to have dinner with my friend Kay at a busy food court and we had to leave our table to get our food at the counter. I came back first and was surprised to see that she left her wallet on the table.  That’s obviously unheard of in Australia (and in most countries).  When I asked her about it afterwards, she just said it’s because no one will take it anyway.
