Disney Beach Resorts in Florida and Hawaii

Disney Beach Resorts in Florida and Hawaii

From Sunrise to Sunset the ultimate Disney beach vacations await

Beyond the Parks of Walt Disney World and Disneyland Resort, there is another side to Disney vacations. A place where ocean breezes kiss the sun-drenched beach and the sun rises and sets with an incredible display of colour that rivals any fireworks display in a Disney Park.

This is the world of Disney Beach Resorts.

Disney has two world-class beach resorts that each offer spectacular amenities in unparalleled Disney style. Let’s follow the sun as we explore these two unbeatable vacation destinations.

The sun rises over the Treasure Coast of Florida at Disney’s Vero Beach Resort.

Many Disney travelers don’t know that just a short drive (less than two hours) from Walt Disney World lies an all-natural Disney beach destination.

Situated ideally on the shores of the Atlantic Ocean just north of Vero Beach, Florida, Disney’s Vero Beach Resort is a large, yet unassuming property with so much to offer. This Resort is part of the Disney Vacation Club (DVC) group of properties, which is Disney’s (well-run) version of a time share program. However, the property does welcome non-member guests as well.

At Disney’s Vero Beach Resort you will discover a wide range of villa accommodations, each with a kitchenette (or full kitchen for one-bedroom Villas and up). These condo-like room options range from Studio Villas to full oceanfront standalone cabin accommodations that can welcome even the largest of families.

Everything You Would Expect from an Upscale Beach Resort

Disney’s Vero Beach Resort offers everything you would expect from an upscale Florida beach property. The sandy beach is home to all kinds of water sports options and rarely if ever does the beach approach anything close to being crowded.

Plus, this section of Florida’s Treasure Coast is a nesting ground for several varieties of sea turtles. Disney Conservation takes great care to mark and protect these nests and the Resort has an impressive and fun array of turtle educational opportunities for guests. If you love sea turtles, be sure to visit during the summer months when nesting activity is under way.

In addition to the major draw of the beach, Disney’s Vero Beach Resort also has an impressive pool area anchored by a popular large water slide (get ready for some water slide races). Next to the pool is a pirate ship splash pad and a miniature golf course, along with more kids activities than your children could do ever do in a week’s stay.

The surrounding area is no less interesting. Staying here will require access to a car so that you can take full advantage of the shopping, exploring and endless activities available within a few minutes’ drive of Disney’s Vero Beach Resort. Surfing, fishing, air boat rides, nature trails and much more are all within easy access.

Dining both onsite and in the surrounding provides a great variety of choices. And if you love to shop, there is everything from beach shops, to outlet malls to upscale boutiques all within 30 minutes’ drive (or less) from the Resort.

There is truly something for everyone at Disney’s Vero Beach Resort. A stay here works equally well on its own, or in combination with a stop at Walt Disney World Resort for the ultimate Florida Disney vacation.

Stunning Hawaiian sunsets await you at Disney Aulani Resort and Spa on Oahu.

Disney Aulani: Follow the Sun West to a Picturesque Hawaiian Sunset

Across the Pacific on the idyllic shores of the Hawaiian Islands there is another exclusive Disney beach resort awaiting your arrival.

Aulani, A Disney Resort & Spa, is a true family luxury Resort that is fully immersed in the Hawaiian culture and island life. Disney Imagineers did an excellent job of incorporating Hawaiian history and culture into the Resort while still managing to maintain a sense of Disney magic and guest service that you would expect from a Disney property.

Beautiful Ko Olina

Located in the upscale enclave of Ko Olina on Oahu, Aulani is a must for any Disney family traveling to Hawaii. Of course the big draw here are the sandy beaches and the shimmering waters of the Pacific Ocean. The beach at Aulani (and neighbouring resorts) is protected by breakwaters, leaving plenty of calm ocean waters for guests to enjoy. For that reason you cannot surf right at the Resort, but have no fear, surfable waves of all sizes are never far in Hawaii.

Disney Aulani is a horseshoe configuration. This photo is taken from one tower looking across to the other. The lobby building is on the right.

Aulani is built in a horseshoe configuration and surrounds a pool lover’s paradise known as Waikolohe Valley. You won’t have to choose between ocean waters or pools here as you can do both within steps of one another. Two incredible water slides, a lazy river, infinity pools, adult-only pools and more: it’s all here at Aulani. There is even a snorkelling reef created right on the property where you can swim with the fishes.

Dining onsite features several good choices, from fine dining, to casual dining, to quick service and poolside food shacks offering tasty locally-inspired bites and snacks.

Across the street (an easy walk) is Ko Olina station, which features many more restaurants and shops. All of this adds up to say that finding variety when looking for a place to eat is not a problem when staying at Disney Aulani (and that doesn’t even include the oceanfront restaurants that you can discover at neighbouring resorts along the oceanfront promenade).

Entertainment options are also abundant at Aulani. Aunty’s Beach House is kid central and you should arrive early each day to sign up for daily activities. In addition, there is an onsite luau, evening lounge entertainment, fireside stories with Uncle and much more. There is even a Character Dining experience for those who want to see Mickey and friends in their laid-back Hawaiian attire.

Literally right outside the front door of Aulani is the entire island of Oahu waiting for you to discover. Honolulu is only a short drive away and you can reach virtually any other spot on the island as well for an inspiring day trip. For these reasons, a rental car is highly recommended when you stay here.

Disney Beach Resorts are an Ideal Choice

If you like the idea of a beachfront vacation with the warmth, hospitality and impeccable guest service of a Disney luxury resort, you owe it to yourself to consider Disney’s Vero Beach Resort and Disney Aulani Resort for your next beach vacation.
