Summer at Little Satmar

We would like to welcome two new members to the Keat Farm team here at Little Satmar; Jennifer and Ric. They joined us in April and have spent some time at all 3 of our Holiday parks learning about their new roles. Those of you who have visited us over the last few months may have already met Jennifer at reception when checking in or popping in to buy something. Ric is primarily based at Little Satmar but also spends time at our 2 other holiday parks; Quex Park and Hawthorn Farm.

Our early season did not have the best start as we had quite a lot of rain, which you may well have experienced too. However, both of the May Bank Holidays made up for it, the park was fully booked and the sun shone! We even had a BBQ and raffle on the last bank holiday and raised £240 for the RNLI and the Air Ambulance Trust. Weather permitting we plan to have another BBQ on August Bank Holiday in aid of the same two charities.

We are continuing to develop the park to include more features and projects in line with the David Bellamy Conservation Awards. We currently have an empty holiday home plot which is becoming our first ‘eco plot’. A new herb bed is growing adjacent to the recycling area and once established visitors will be able to help themselves to its delights. We have also created a wild area using log rounds to encourage more wildlife and have introduced a few small water features.
