The UK Touring Market Continues to Rise

With the new season nearly upon us, it is great to see that the UK’s Touring industry continues to rise in popularity, with a recent increase in sales of 9% and more than 56,000 units sold in the leisure vehicle market. This is inclusive of touring caravans, static caravans and motor homes.

The rise in sales demonstrates the growing demand for touring caravans in the UK, with the biggest buyers of touring caravans worldwide being the U.S, followed closely by the UK.

According to the BBC News, John Lally, Head of the NCC, attributes the rise in sales to the increasingly popular ‘staycation’ movement. We have seen this steadily rise throughout last year as Brits are choosing to go on more frequent, shorter holidays rather than holiday overseas.

Caravan designs and amenities are progressively improving, most equipped with all the creature comforts of home and a far cry from caravan holidays you may remember from your childhood. Whether brand new or second hand, caravans are becoming more affordable as they are not only seen as a valued investment, but also a great lifestyle choice. Touring allows complete freedom and independence, permitting you to move from place to place, with no time restraints or restrictions, and enjoy activities such as cycling, walking, and exploring whichever local area you choose to discover.
