What’s on in Kent this September?

It’s September (we can’t believe it either!), it’s officially Autumn, and everyone is back to school, back to work and back to the daily routine. Along with the cooler weather and summer holidays feeling like a distant memory, you may be feeling a little blue. Luckily, September is packed full with some great events to look forward to.

Here’s what’s on in Kent this September, and the overall theme seems to be Food, with music, arts and other activities featuring in between. Perfect! So if you are a foodie, don’t miss out on some of these great events!

Food Festivals

Deal Food & Drink Festival

When: Friday 8th – Sunday 10th September

Where: Deal Castle Promenade, Marine Road, Walmer, Deal, CT14 7BA

Canterbury Food Fair

When: Friday 22nd – Sunday 24th September

Where: The Dane John Gardens, Watling Street, Canterbury, CT1 1YW

The annual Canterbury Food Fair is located in the heart of the city and it’s the perfect way to end the summer months, with live music and the best food and drink Kent has to offer, all weekend. There is also a kids’ area and fun fair, so fun for all the family. Find out more.

Broadstairs Food Festival

When: Friday 29th September – Sunday 1st October

Where: Victoria Gardens, Broadstairs, CT10 1QS

Located right on the seafront promenade, the Broadstairs Food Festival is a fantastic free exhibition of the amazing quality and variety of produce Kent has to offer. The festival has over 100 stalls showcasing freshly cooked and produced Kentish goods, as well as workshops, master classes and chef demonstrations. If you love food, don’t miss this one! Arts & Culture

Folkestone Triennial

When: Saturday 2nd September – Sunday 5th November

Where: Creative Foundation Quarterhouse, Folkestone, CT20 1BN

This is an exciting project of the Creative Foundation visionary arts charity, now in its fourth year running. The idea behind the project is to support the regeneration of the seaside town, transforming not only the town but the community. Different artworks can be seen all around the town – see if you can find them all! There are 19 altogether. Find out more.

Roundabout Festival

When: Thursday 21st – Sunday 24th September

Where: Marine Gardens, Margate, CT9 1UH

The world’s first pop-up theatre and it’s coming to Margate! The idea of a pop-up theatre, is about bringing new plays, music and comedy to places all across the country. Find out more.

Canterbury Festival

The Canterbury Festival is Kent’s International Arts Festival, the largest and most important arts and culture event in the South East, exhibiting music, poetry, comedy, performances, talks and so much more! Find out more.
