What’s on in Kent this month? As always there are plenty of events across Kent to keep all the family busy this summer. We are already in August, how time flies, and the summer holidays are in full swing! Start planning now and get some dates in your diary for August.

Thanet

Margate Soul Weekend – 4th – 6th August

The UK’s biggest soul festival is back for another year this August. Set in the beautiful Margate harbour with outdoor street parties, 5 indoor stages plus a plethora of cafes, bars and restaurants.

Broadstairs Folk Week – 11th – 18th August

The festival takes place all over the town with entertainment for everyone with song, music and dance.  There is also a full programme for families and young people, with plenty of workshops, activities and crafts. Day tickets start from £39 for adults and £17 for children, click here for more information.

World’s Biggest Bouncy Castle – 12th – 26th August

An epic 21 metres square and almost 13 metres tall at the highest point, you cannot miss the world’s Biggest Bouncy Castle at Dreamland Margate. Whether you are 3 or 33, give it a go!

If you are a keen photographer do not miss the chance to discover the history of photography and all things photographic at the Powell-Cotton Museum throughout August. With tickets from £6.50 for children, including access to the Museum, House and Gardens.

Deal, Dover, Folkestone

Betteshanger Park in Deal has plenty of activities and events throughout the year. The Wind Festival will be taking place on the 6th of August with kite flying demonstrations, workshops, plus plenty of delicious food and drink.  The Open air cinema will be showing Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them on the 19th of August for just £10. There will be local food and drinks on offer, or bring your own picnic, and don’t forget your comfy chairs! There is also a FREE Birds of prey display on the 13th of August.

Castle Live! At Dover Castle offers an action packed historical adventure this August Bank holiday weekend from Saturday 26th – 28th August.

If being active whilst taking in beautiful scenery and landscapes is more up your street, the White Cliffs walking festival offers a wide range of walks to suit everyone, starting from 24th August.
