What to do for the half term holidays

What to do this half term?

Half term breaks are an ideal time to load up the car and take the family away on a seaside getaway or escape to the countryside. With the May half term just around the corner, why not start planning your trip now?

Keat Farm has 3 Holiday Parks in Kent; all near countryside but not far from the coast either. Everything you could possibly want for a short break away. Known as the Garden of England, Kent has so much to offer and each of our holiday parks are ideally located to make the most of that.

Each park is located in landscaped grounds, with various amenities on site including; shops, cafes (on 2 of the parks) and laundry facilities. Our holiday parks offer a quiet and peaceful environment ready for you to pitch up and relax.

The combination of beach and countryside means there is plenty of things to do so you can be as active as you like, or simply relax and unwind.

Enjoy the fresh air and take to the many footpaths; through fields and villages or along the coast with great sea views. You could visit the traditional seafront at Herne Bay, complete with mini golf, ice cream parlours and of course, fish and chips.

Further along the coast is the Harbour Market at Whitstable, offering a range of delightful stalls showcasing locally made crafts, food and art (see their website for details). There are also several seafood restaurants, most famously known for the local oysters. A short walk away you will find Harbour Street, renowned for its contemporary shops, galleries, cafes and independent restaurants.

If retail therapy is more your scene, Whitefriars Shopping Centre in Canterbury has over 70 shops located in a pleasant open-air format right in the heart of the historic city. Whilst in town, you could visit the beautiful Westgate Gardens or take a boat trip along the River Stour.

Going south from Canterbury, through rolling countryside, you make your way towards Dover and Folkestone. Two of our holiday parks are located in this area meaning you could visit the harbour at Folkestone for seafood and then wander round the towns’ Creative Quarter. If you’re feeling the need for something more active you can visit the dry slope ski centre. Dover Castle is also a great day out for the family, look out for their special events.

You will also find more ideas of what to do our latest blog, including upcoming events and activities this May.

To book your pitch on one of our holiday parks please visit our website. There you will hopefully find the information you need to decide which park best suits your requirements. We hope to see you soon.
