G is for…Golf

Two photogenic courses make Ras Al Khaimah a premier golfing destinations. The Al Hamra Championship Golf Club is probably the most picturesque in the whole of the UAE, with the fairways winding around lagoons and desert. Tower Links Golf Club is set in a mangrove reserve beneath the Hajjar Mountain, so expect another 18 holes of taking selfies on the tee.

H is for…Hajjar Mountains

You can’t get much redder than the Hajjar, the sandstone peaks that rise across the boundary of Ras Al Khaimah. Obviously, touring the mountains provides wonderful views. But the Hajjar are also one of the unmissable highlights on a Ras Al Khaimah air tour.

I is for…Iceland Waterpark

What’s a beach getaway without massive waterslides and the world’s largest man-made waterfall? Waterparks aren’t for everyone, but for those who want to splash around, Iceland Waterpark means you don’t need to travel to Dubai or Abu Dhabi.

J is for…Jais Mountain

The ascent of Jais Mountain connects the heritage of Ras Al Khaimah. On a four-hour hike you’ll pass abandoned Arabian villages, iconic oases, water wells, flourishing fields, then the beautiful slopes of the mountain. Get to the top and the view is one of the best things to see Ras Al Khaimah.

K is for…Kestrels and Hawks

Birds of prey fly through the air in the Ras Al Khaimah desert, landing on the hands of trained falconers. In this A – Z list the falconry experience could also have been under H for hawks, E for eagles, F for falcons, or O for owls.

Luxury spas fill Ras Al Khaimah, many of them winning multiple awards for their massages and treatments. Then there’s Banyan Tree Al Wadi in the desert.
