Whistler, BC: A Winter and Summer Wonderland

Whistler, BC

There’s a saying that no two days at Whistler are the same and it’s true. You can be skiing the mountain slopes of Whistler one day and mountain biking through the BC forest the next. Although people say Whistler is the place to be in the winter, it would be unfair to say the summer is any less amazing. You cannot imagine how green and and lush the forest and mountain trails are in the summer.

It’s Addictive

Whistler is one of those places that sucks you in and you can help but getting caught up in the enthusiasm of the plethora of outdoor activities. It has really become an international destination and not just for skiing.

If you want to do something really extreme or you want to go and do something low key like kicking back at the lodge by the fire then Whistler is the place to be.

Olympics

Whistler took part in the Winter Olympics as an Official Olympic venue during the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games. Fantastic Olympic legacies like the Whistler Sliding Centre, Whistler Olympic Park and Whistler Medals Plaza, as well as the Mountain Bike Park and the record-breaking PEAK 2 PEAK Gondola, make Whistler a world-class, year-round destination.

The Whistler sliding center still has their Bobsled, Luge and skeleton track. The track is also the fastest track in the world. It is the biggest rush you can ever have. When you are on the track you can’t see anything just the rush of the speed. And the G force and the last turn takes your breath away.

Entertainment

One of the shows that you don’t want to miss is the fire and ice show. The atmosphere is that of a festival. You get the opportunity to watch with your families, friends and colleagues. It is just a fast paced high energy show. It is definitely a feast for the eyes.

Treats

I think everybody secretly loves baked goods. Whistler is the best place to get a pure-bread in Canada. People attribute the taste to the water, the mountain and some say is the love that they put into it.

Dining

The diversity that they provide makes you not to miss home. Like the authentic Mexican and Australian restaurants. They have been voted the best ski resort in the world.

Relaxation

For relaxation, they provide hydro therapy, which is an ancient Scandinavian tradition and has a lot really amazing relaxation and health benefit. The ability to offer that kind of hydro therapy experience in the heart of nature is what makes Whistler a special place.

Accommodations

Once you get to Whistler there are lovely hotels, awesome Cabins for rent, ski condos, homes rentals for families groups. Whatever you are looking for, you won’t to get a problem finding good accommodation.Winter, fall, spring or summer – it’s yours to relax in, explore and use as a base camp to begin your adventures.

But with all these fantastic experience and atmosphere, there are things that you must consider before you go on this amazing trip. Things like when to go, what to go with and some of the best cabins to stay in. The best and quickest way to get to Whistler from the Vancouver airport is to hop on a bus. It is two hours door to door and you don’t need a car anyway when you get to Whistler. There are also chartered shuttles, limousines etc.

Whistler Village is the place to be when you are looking for places to stay in town. Thankfully there are a wide variety of Whistler cabins for rent. The lovely thing about Whistler village is that there are no cars allowed. It is a pedestrian village. Bonus: The Blackcomb and the Whistler Gondola all meet at the Village.

Think of Whistler Village as your home away from home, with added bonus a breath taking mountain view. A stroll along the stone walkways will reveal all the creature comforts you need (plus a few luxuries you really want). And when it’s time to escape, the great outdoors is just steps away.

The Creekside is the place to find two or three-bed room cabins. For you to experience this wonderful place. You must have a place of comfort at affordable price. And Whistler doesn’t disappoint in this area. As matter of fact, you can rent some of the most amazing Cabins in Whistler at an affordable price.

You rent an amazing cabin for as low at $175 per night and this is a bargain compared the experience and view that you will experience.

With a budget of $50 a night, you can get an awesome rental cabin at the iron wood resort. For you to have an awesome deal it is best to do secure your booking online. Sometimes it is hectic to get rent a cabin in Whistler during the winter season. The best way is for you to secure your accommodation online.

Also, you get to save up to 40% when you stay more than 4+ nights on some selected rental cabins and properties.

Things to See & Do

If you are not brave enough to do any of the downhill mountain bike and trays, try the gentle trail to the lost lake which is just outside the village. It is just absolutely beautiful. When you’re not busy enjoying the outdoors, be sure not to miss the world class spas, the international restaurants, nightlife and so much more.
