It’s been four years since the UNESCO World Heritage town of Trogir in southern Croatia began its Marked By Masters initiative, a way of celebrating and protecting its cultural heritage, from its traditional jewelry-making to its shortbread cookie. Kira Richards learns how it’s taken root in this island town in the Adriatic Sea.

Kira Richards was one of four mentees who participated in Intrepid’s first Diversifying Travel Media press trip in September 2023 alongside three fellow mentees/aspiring travel journalists and four mentors/established travel writers and editors.
