CORAL CASTLE- Unusual accomplishment

It was last Sunday and we were wondering what should we do on Sunday afternoon, some one said lets  hit beach, one who is still in hangover told lets sleep . we even had a foodie entry saying lets go to eat stone crab.

And we were not decided unanimously on anything. suddenly from somewhere idea came up to visit any museum in Miami. yes museum in Miami. you gotta be kidding me.

But when  I  googled it, I accidentally hit the you tube video on coral castle. And seriously this coral castle guy was something serious versatile super genius type.

In terms of accomplishments, I found someone comparing this place to pyramid and taj mahal or Stonehenge, Greek ancient temple.

This guy Edward Leedskalnin, a 5 ft tall , lean 100-lb Latvian has single-handedly constructed a castle without any help.

While doing so,it was his engineering and may be he got some secret , he was able to move even 30 tons single piece stone.

We purchased our tickets at the gates which also includes a guided tours. Our guide was calling this genius as Ed.
Ed choice of material also makes this incredible. As we went pass through the entrance gate, there was single stone of about 20 tons which you can rotate with your palm, its mounted (I guess it was a rod).
Then the next we saw his sitting chairs , there were 3 reading sofa each for morning time when sun is in east, for afternoon when sun is in middle of sky and for evening when sun is in west . so that sunlight always fall on his back.

Below is the famous Florida table which he created  thinking someday Florida government will brainstorm in his castle. he also created a water pot (on right side), so they can drink water when they are tiered of arguing.

Next was his telescope which exhibits his  interest in astronomy

Our  guide said he used these huge blocks of coral rock from his backyard.
It's estimated that 1,000 tons of coral rock were used in construction
of the walls and towers, and an additional 100 tons of it were carved
 into furniture and art objects

Just beside this telescope you can see the biggest single piece rock which he  moved and  positioned as a wall. And with placement of this rock may be he knew this is the biggest single piece stone he has managed to move and positioned so he created some crown type structure above that
After than as you  will move south of castle, you will see jupiter, saturn , moon and couple of cross chairs which he believed will be used to short out flights between him and his wife , as talking and sitting across each other is the best way to short out problems.Impressive right?

Then come his barbeque which he has perfectly  engineered, so that you done have to do much.

He also planned a punishment cabin for children , a moving chairs, beds for all his four children and his wife and himself.A Stone clock which tell you time with the month.

He has a famous heart shape dinning table which is carver from a single coral stone.

At last we saw Ed's tool room.this guy has secret of doing things, he proved he knows the secret of making pyramids.

ED took issue with modern science's understanding of nature. He flatly states that they are wrong. His concept of nature is simple. All matter consists of individual magnets and it is the movement of these magnets within materials and through space that produces measurable phenomena, i.e., magnetism and electricity.

I can not conclude whether this guy was wrong or right , but what he did is something secret , by looking his tools, you can see he had used coils and magnetic property to devise some means to generate electricity and  to single -handdedly lift and maneuver blocks of coral weighing upto 30 tons.

Its a good bet of money and a must visit . .He labored for 28 years to complete the work, which consist of 1100 tons of coral rock

This castle visit will leave you thinking that what was Ed's secret ? Is it possible for five-foot tall,110 pound man to accomplish such a feat without knowing techniques that are uncommon to our contemporary understanding of physics and mechanics? That his understanding of things was not different ?.

I will leave you with these questions and peek to amazing coral castle and some pics
