International flight starts slowly from Bangladesh after long break

After a long break of more than two and half months, commercial international Flight operations are going to be started today on limited routes. The Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB) issued permission for flight operations to the United Kingdom and Qatar as a starter very recently.

Qatar Airways will start Dhaka to Doha flights today but Biman’s London flight will commence on 21 June.

Biman Bangladesh airlines will operate one flight every week to London after it starts on 21 June.

Qatar Airways will operate three flights a week as Civil Aviation Authority allowed. But Qatar airways can only carry transit passengers on its flights for now.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh stopped all international flights except those in the China-Bangladesh route on 21 March 2020. This cancellation of flights has been increased several times since 15th June. In the meantime, domestic flights have already started with limited routes and a controlled number of passengers.
