Travelling Solo at Festivals

Solo travellers make up for a high percentage of people on group tours and for good reason. Sometimes, you’re ready to pack up and go but your friends aren’t, or you just can’t find someone interested in that same destination.

If you really want to go though, why should that hold you back?

One area of travel that makes touring solo very tempting is Festivals. Do you dream of heading to Sziget in Budapest? What about Oktoberfest in Munich? Or Carnival in Rio de Janeiro? There’s tons of festivals around the world, and not everyone will want to go to the same ones you do.

That’s where Travelling with a group comes in handy. That’s where some of the group travel benefits come in.

First off, your accommodation, tickets, transportation and everything else is taken care of for you. You just need to book the tour, buy some new festival clothing and start getting excited.

One of the biggest fears of a first-time solo traveller, is whether or not they’ll meet people. Luckily on tours meeting new friends is pretty much a guarantee! Festivals are a perfect place to meet people, but on a tour it’s even easier. You meet people around the world in your tour group, and you’ll meet plenty others at the festival itself.

Another perk to travelling in a group is safety. At festivals, things can get a bit crazy and it’s easy to get lost in the crowd. When you’re on a tour, you’re always accounted for by your fellow travellers and your guide.

All in all, Travelling Solo in general and especially when you’re heading to a festival isn’t scary – it’s actually a whole lot of fun. Share with us what festival you’d love to go to in the comments!
