The Dunhuang Grottos are a treasure trove with more than 2,000 ancient statues and murals, dating back more than 1,000 years. The site recently received 19,301 visitors, a Record for a single day this year. There also has been a rise in foreign tourists at the Caves, nearly twice the visitation compared to last year.  In 1987 the Mogao Grottos became China’s first UNESCO World Heritage
