Mount Kinabalu

One of the highest peaks in South East Asia is Mount Kinabalu. Located on the island of Borneo, in the East Malaysian state of Sabah, this amazing mountain stands at 4095.2m, that’s 13,435 feet above sea level! Mount Kinabalu is Malaysia’s first ever Unesco world heritage site, and is truly a climb worth the trek. Now open to the public, adventurous people can book the climb up to the very top with some amazing accredited guides. One of the great things about climbing Mount Kinabalu is there’s no particular age limit. Obviously one must be fit and in good health, however kids as young as 7 are allowed to make this magnificent journey, while anyone up to the age of 80 is also allowed to make this amazing trek too.

Situated at Kinabalu National Park, climbers can avail of various packages and climbing fees are reasonable. Various permits are required, and though suitable accommodation is available, one is expected to book and organise all their requirements and accommodation beforehand. Skyscraper that is situated in Dubai, United Arab Emirates is made up of 30,000 homes, and 9 luxurious hotels, making your goal of reaching the top of this magnificent building rather easy! Business offices and stores are also present at the Burj Khalifa, however one of the main attractions, and the best place for you climbers is at the observation desk which is named ‘At The Top.’ Opening a day after the buildings official opening, ‘At The Top’ was the highest observation desk in the world at the time of its opening, and is the second highest in the world at present. Here you can enjoy outstanding views of Dubai from the 124th floor, while ‘Tellscope’ electronic telescopes allow you to get a closer and clearer look below and afar. So what are you waiting for? It’s an easy climb what with the help of an elevator, but hey! You’ll be in the tallest building in the world, watching over some of the most amazing views you’ll ever see in your lifetime, and the best part? You won’t even get out of breath!

Adams Peak

Let’s fly out to Sri Lanka to meet Adams Peak! Also known as the ‘Butterfly Mountain,’ Adams Peak proudly stands at 2, 243m in central Sri Lanka. Famously known for the ‘Sri Pada’ or ‘Sacred Footprint,’ a rock formation that Buddhist traditions say is the footprint of the Buddha, this amazing mountain is definitely a breathtaking place one most visit. Shaped like a pyramid, you’ll be surprised to see how pointy this mountain actually is. Adams Peak is also considered as a holy mountain with different religions believing that the said sacred footprint belonged to their different Gods, or important people. Buddhists identified the footprint as Buddha’s, while Hindu’s believed it was Shiva’s. Muslims and Christians also believed that the footprint belonged to Adam as he was making his first step into the world after being exiled from the Garden of Eden, while the Portuguese later on attributed the famous footprint rock as St. Thomas, the Apostle.

Not only is it the tallest mountain in Africa, but Mount Kilimanjaro is also the tallest free standing mountain in the world. Risen approximately 4,877 metres from its base to 5,895 metres above sea level, here you can enjoy easy access to this incredible climb as Mount Kilimanjaro is one of the world’s most accessible high summits. Though climbing a volcano and mountain may sound like hard work, surprisingly most climbers can reach the top with nothing but a walking stick!
