Barcelona -> Perpignan -> Lyon -> Frankfurt -> Berlin

Long time no post. We've been busy up here in Stockholm since we came back from our little Tour de France und Deutschland. Prior to that, we spent some time in and around Barcelona. Those of you who follow us on Instagram may have noticed we've been quite idle there too. We apologize for this, and promise that we will be more active now, as we're soon about to head out on a new adventure, albeit a short one. We'll depart for Poland on Monday (4/8), and visit the cities of Gdansk, Warsaw and Wroclaw, before heading over to Prague in Czech Republic, and then eventually fly down to Spain for two weeks of "vacation" in Benidorm and Ibiza (vacation here means working, but in more touristy areas). Exciting times ahead!

However, this time we though we'd tell you more about our most recent journey, which - as the title implies - took place in Spain, France and Germany. We landed in Spain after our South American adventure, stayed there for a few weeks and then bus-tripped all the way up to Rostock in Northern Germany, from where we ferried back home to Sweden. During these bus-trips we stopped for a few days in each of the four cities mentioned in the title. Let's start with Barcelona, though!

We were accomodated in Sabadell, a town some 30-minutes north of Barcelona, at Aparthotel Vallès (reviews of all hotels will be up later!). In short, we can say we really liked the place and wholeheartedly recommend it for other travellers.

Of course there's plenty to see and do in Barcelona. Three things we did see are Arc de Triomphe, Sagrada Familia and Barcelona Aquarium.

After Barcelona, our first stop would be in Perpignan, France, a neat little town with great hospitality! We made a bunch of new friends, and really felt sorry to leave the place so soon. There are some interesting sights to see in and around the city; we chose to focus on the castles and the beach...

We really hope we can return to the delightful town of Perpignan again. Anyway, we had to get moving north, and our next stop was Lyon.

Being France's second city, it has a lot to offer when it comes to sights, as well as eating, drinking and other activities. Just walking around in the old town was a cultural journey throughout France's history.

During our last night, Algeria won their game in the World Cup against Korea, and this dramatic photo was taken from our window during the celebrations that night.

Luckily, they eventually managed to extinguish the fire. We didn't get too much sleep that night anyway, since the celebrations continued until the early hours.

After Lyon, we were done with France and continued on to Germany! First stop: Frankfurt.

We had a terrific time here as well. We only stayed for three days, and those went by like lightning. Germany is really one of those countries that offers something for everyone! Now it was time to make our last stop before going home: Berlin.

During our four days here we'd just walk for hours through the beautiful parks, watching the historical monuments and enjoying the delicious German cuisine.

Dinner last day: Argentinian style mixed grill platter. Way to go!

Now we've shown you some stuff from our latest adventure. Upcoming blog posts to look forward to: hotel reviews from Spain, France and Germany, a reflection of our summer in Sweden and of course stories and photos from Poland and Czech Republic. Stay tuned!
