Tiny Home Big Land

Tags: house tiny offer

So! We have been missing in action for ages, like dropped off the planet completely and went into a place where we never shared much at all. I wont explain why, but lets just say that the journey was a rough one and only now am I able to find a way to move forward.

Crazy how life throws curve balls hey! We still own our run down neglected sorry for sore eyes motorhome, one I want to sell, one that David wants to renovate for a guest and family to stay in when they come on over. You see I want to still be on the road but David wanted to set down roots and buy a House.

BEAUTIFUL SUNSET OVER OUR MOTORHOME

Guess what?

He got me good…..he bought a house without me seeing it and I didn’t even see it until settlement date!! Yep so I bought a motorhome on eBay sight unseen, location unknown and now he put an Offer on a Tiny home big block without me even seeing.

It was a case of no choice.

Davids parents, who we had been helping for sometime, had to sell up and move into a retirement home. They were no longer able to look after themselves and their property was too big for them to cope even with home help coming in every day and us there as well.

David’s Mum needed more one/on/one care and being 30 minutes outside of Bundaberg didn’t allow for any more help then what they were already receiving.

They sold their house, in one weekend, for a record price.

Shit, where could we go? What would we do with our of our stuff that was sitting in the shipping container?

We looked for 8 months and couldn’t buy anything as every time we went looking, the house was already under contract. The property market exploded and we were running out of time. We tried to buy an amazing block of land that had a shed on it and was going to build a house, but the finance didn’t go through at the last minute.

We literally had just over 1 1/2 month to find a solution and fast or we would be up the creek without a paddle.

Life is crazy or is it ironic? Our Tiny Home Big Land was one of the first properties that David looked at and showed me the listing, about six months before we purchased it. And I said “heck no, look at that block its a shit block”.

It hadn’t rained in for who knows how long and it was all dirt, no water in the dam, and I didn’t even like the look of the inside so I was dead against it.

Then we had no choice, and I was working full time as a Property Manager, Kyle got his dream job and David was working afternoon/evening shifts. So he went with the real estate, took one look and put an offer in that very same day.

The Real Estate agent (was hopeless) couldn’t believe that he was accepting an offer from a Husband without the wife being there.

OH I nearly forgot – we had to tried to purchase a six bedroom, 3 bathroom home on 1.4 acres on the north side of Bundaberg way back when were first starting to look but at the last minute we pulled out of the contract as the house went under in the Bunaberg floods – twice! And was sinking. I am so grateful that deal feel through as every bathroom needed to be fully gutted and renovated, and there was no laundry. The only good thing was the style as it looked like a shed house and you all know that I love shed houses.

Back to our Tiny Home story – we waited to hear about our offer. And waited. David ended up calling the real estate to find out if our offer had been accepted. The office lady said no, when in fact she got it wrong and our offer was accepted, but we made a bit more of an offer and it was finally secured.

OUR TINY HOME BIG LAND

We had our home.

BEAUTIFUL PURPLE FLOWERS ON THE TREE

Without me seeing it. How cute is our little tiny Cubby house, we are going to turn it into an office.

And we didn’t even get to move into it for over two weeks as we had to help David’s parents pack up and move – which nearly killed both David and I. David took two weeks off work to help his parents move as they had been in the home for over 20 years, and it was a huge house, downsizing into a small retirement home! They packed way too much stuff when they moved and still have heaps in boxes as they have no where to store any of it

Then David moved us over at the same time frame and he was close to a nervous breakdown by the end of it. With me being in a new full time job as a Property Manager I wasn’t able to help him until the weekend. But that time frame he had moved everything in.

We have most of our sons furniture, and had to buy our bed, our dining table, our fridge and then recently we did Kyle’s bedroom make-over. I will soon be sharing how we were able to surprise Kyle with turning his bedroom into his own little paradise.

Now I am sitting here writing at my dining table, and I am over the moon grateful for our little tiny home big block of land, as its only two bedrooms, one bathroom, no laundry and lots of room to move around. Mind you with all of the rain we have had recently, its a jungle out there!

We are now going to share our new journey over on Instagram, YouTube, Facebook and TikTok. We want to be able to get back to what we all love doing – I love sharing here on our blog, and David loves renovating/gardening. Kyle loves his two dogs, and his 8 beehives!! Even if he gets so cross with me for cleaning his bedroom and touching his stuff Well he wont do it so someone has to!

We want to say a massive thank you to you all. Even when I couldn’t bring myself to even look at this blog, nor look out our facebook page, or instagram page, you all kept sending us messages and letting us know you all were thinking of us, and for that I am so grateful.

We hope to be here more often. What would you like to see from our Tiny Home Big Land? Would you like to know anything that we are doing? Or see any of our indoor space?

We Look Forward To Connecting With You All

Thank you for reading this far, and for being here with us on this wild crazy ride.

Cheers

Lisa
