Must Have Items For Camping

We love Camping. Which is so funny cause when I was a kid I didn’t like camping. When our older boys were younger I didn’t like camping. Now I can’t get enough of it. It’s me that says “oh let’s go camping – there is a Bundaberg show day on Thursday, take the Friday off and let’s have a four day weekend”

And we did – even though I got an SOS and had to go to town for massaging {which I love to do}. And even though we didn’t spend quality alone time – I think we are going to have to go on a cruise without Dogs and Kids for that to happen.

{On This List I didn’t include Our Solar Panels – Cause without Solar Panels we couldn’t go off-grid camping so they are a necessity, not a must!}

ROAST DINNERS WHILE CAMPING MADE POSSIBLE WITH OUR THERMO COOKER

Here is our List of Must Have Items For Camping

  1. Toilet Paper – yeah roll your eyes, but you try going to a camping ground where there are one female and one male toilet and there are 11 camping sites with up to 12 people allowed on each camping site then you will need toilet paper before the weekend is finished!
  2. Themo Cooker. We use it at least three times a week in our Motorhome. And when we go camping we take it with us. David cooks a Roast Chook and Veggies Dinner – stay tuned as I will share how amazing our dinners are when we are camping at Off the Grid spot.
  3. Scrubba Wash Bag. We have it ready every single time. I love the Scrubba wash bag as it doesn’t take much water to wash our dirty son’s clothes. And anyone that knows Kyle knows how dirty he gets!!!
  4. Mozzies Coils and Holders. Mozzies love me – every time we go anywhere I am the first to be eaten. Which leads me to the next must-have item
  5. Matches. Yep one time we went camping and we didn’t have any matches, no lighters and nothing to light up the gas cooktop! It was interesting and there were no shops nearby. Luckily for us, Dave had a flint kit in the car and we had to use that for our entire camping trip. Now we have lots of matches
  6. Herbs. David must take his minimum amount of herbs with us. He is the one that does most of our cooking because he says that its relaxing – Nuts I know!! With his minimum herb containers, he can basically whip up any meal anytime anywhere.
  7. Socks. Last time we went camping I forgot bed socks – there is NOTHING worse in this world trying to sleep in a Camper Trailer or in a Swag and freezing your arse off because your feet are cold.
  8. Drinking Water – we take big water containers because we have rainwater tanks the chemicals in tap water is so disgusting, and we have really good filters on our Motorhome. I can’t stomach town water! The difference between rainwater and town water is massive!
  9. Coffee. David must have his morning coffee – and it must be good quality coffee. One of our sons {who lives in Canberra} sent us two packets of good quality coffee and now we are both loving the two blends. David buys good quality blends of coffee – it has to be ground up coffee beans and not the instant variety
  10. Our shower. Dave rigs up a tarp into a shower tent on the end of our Camper Trailer. Its a 12volt shower – where one end goes into a bucket and the shower head can be hooked onto the tarp wall. We boil up the water and it’s nice and hot – especially if we get the fire raging nearby.
OUR FAVORITE ALL TIME COFFEE IS KILLER COFFEE – NOW TO WORK OUT WHO TO GET A LIFETIME SUPPLY OF IT

There are many other items that we take every time we go camping – our swags always come with us when we have extra kids – and extra clothing to always keep warm when its winter time. But basically, that is our 10 Must Have Items For Camping.

OUR 12 VOLT SHOWER HEAD WHERE THE OTHER END SITS IN THE BUCKET AND RUNS FROM A PUMP
