Top 30 List Of Things To Do In Las Vegas

It’s a once in a lifetime chance for many people, people who have saved up for months or even years in order to get to Las Vegas, so when you are there you had better make the most of it. This city definitely never sleeps, and you will always find something to do. Many people come just for the fun times to be had at the casinos, some come here to get very drunk and accidentally get married (I’m sure they start off with the idea in mind anyway) and some people come to Las Vegas because they want to just say they have been. Well if you are going to Las Vegas, then you have got to do it right, remember what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas, so feel free to let your hair down and don’t worry about a thing, because everything you need to know or do is on this list. Enjoy people!

#1 Dance On The Bar At Coyote Ugly Bar And Dance Saloon

The Coyote Ugly Saloon was established in 1993 by Liliana Lovell after she decided to turn down a highly lucrative internship on Wall Street instead opting to become a bartender in New York City. Coyote Ugly Saloon’s are now all over America which has grown larger and larger from the time Liliana founded it, the bar even became wildly famous when Hollywood decided to take on Liliana’s story and make the film by the same name. The Las Vegas Coyote Ugly Saloon is one of the most vibrant and atmospheric places to be and you will miss out big time if you don’t attend the venue at least once in your stay in Vegas. Make sure you keep this one at the top of your list. You’ll love it (especially if you are single).

#2 The Freemont Street Experience

The Freemont Street Experience, is out of this world, there really is very little in comparison to the awesomeness of this amazing venue. Basically Freemont Street is a unique mall structure within Las Vegas, nothing amazing so far right? Apart from the fact that the ceiling is alive! The whole ceiling area is a giant series of video screens which pump out some seriously amazing effects, imagine a couple of fighter jets flying through a street just a hundred or so feet above your head, its a truly mind-blowing experience and has been ongoing now since around 1995. If you want a unique experience then head over to Freemont Street, it’s free and something you wont want to miss.

#3 Circus Circus Las Vegas Hotel Casino

One of the greatest hotels in the world, offering live circus entertainment every single day, Circus Circus is home t the worlds most permanent static circus act and it has been going strong now for over 40yrs! This is also a very famous building, which has been the home to many Hollywood feature films such as Johnny Depp’s ‘Fear And Loathing In Las Vegas’ (Brilliant film by the way). Even James bond has had the pleasure of ordering a Martini from this amazing venue (shaken not stirred in case you were wondering). If you want to stay somewhere very different to the usual casino themed hotels in Las Vegas then this is right up your alley. Be sure to take a camera too because you will want to remember this experience for years to come!

#4 Thunderstorm At The Planet Hollywood Hotel and Casino

This is just mind-dazzling, nay mind-blowing, it really is an incredible feat of interactive magic brought to life by some elec-trickery! Basically the Planet Hollywood Hotel And Casino has it’s very own thunderstorm, inside the building. One minute you could be walking beneath clear blue skies and then in minutes a thunderstorm could be literally over your head, no need for an umbrella though, this is all done by the magic of special effects, lighting and television sequences. If you have ever wondered what it would feel like to have a sky within a building; and let’s face it who hasn’t, right? Okay maybe no one has but the point I am making is that this is just a remarkable place to stay at or visit, so make sure you tick this one off your list.

#5 The Mentalist At Planet Hollywood Hotel And Casino

If you have been hooked on the now epic television series ‘The Mentalist’ Starring Simon Baker then you will already have an incline as to what this show is all about. The Mentalist Show at the Planet Hollywood Hotel And Casino is an exceptional show of intelligence, mind-reading and illusions that will wow you right there in your seat; think hypnotist only ten times better. Now I’m not sure how The Mentalist over at the Planet Hollywood Hotel And Bar holds up to our very own mind magician, Derren Brown, but one thing is for certain, you will leave this show with your eyes a lot more open for the supernatural.

#6 Haunted Vegas Tour and Show

This is a completely different experience from anything you will see elsewhere in Las Vegas; this bunch of ghost hunting bus driving tour guides, will take you through the most haunted of as Vegas, showing you such locations as where Elvis and Tupac Shakur are said to haunt, you are even allowed and encouraged to take a camera along in order to try and take some shots og the ghosts and ghouls of Las Vegas. This may seem a little over the top but for those of you that really are the biggest T.A.P.S (a host hunting team) fans in the world, you will not want to miss this experience.

#7 Zion National Park

Unbeknown to a lot of travellers, the Zion National Park near Las Vegas, is one of the most attractive parts of the whole area. The views to be had here are just immense, mountain tops, clear lakes, and beautiful sunsets; if you have the time to get up here then definitely do that because you won’t want to miss out on this amazing reserve. The great thing about Zion is that it is really close to the main parts of Vegas, which means no long journeys and wasted hours, just a great experience and some great memories, this is a great day out if you have had enough of all the hustle and bustle of the main strip. I’m sure you will love this miniature safari for everyone.

#8 Las Vegas Gun Store and Firing Range

A lot of people outside of the US have never even seen a real gun close up, let alone hold and fire one, for the people of the UK as we very rarely see anything like a real gun, unless you go to an old war museum. At the Gun Store you can hire out a gun and shoot targets in the purpose-built gun range. So if you fancy yourself as a bit of a gun slinger or you just want to see what it feels like to fire a weapon first hand then try this out, it’s a completely new experience and a great story to tell your friends, you can even keep the targets after finishing your shooting!

#9 Las Vegas Strip Night Tour

This is a more conservative item for the list, it is basically a tour around the Las Vegas Strip at night, something that will leave you in awe as you see all of the immense lighting and neon signs, not to mention the huge array of replica statues, buildings and displays. This is something for those that want to get the most out of the strip, you will be taken by the hand to experience all there is to know about the famous Vegas Strip. So if you are more of a sight seeing tourist than an all action adventurer then this may be for you.

#10 Bootleg Canyon Flightlines

Remember those playgrounds that had the zip-wires when you were a kid? Remember how fun it was to go screaming at full speed along it for all of 20 feet before coming to a sudden halt? Well if you liked that when you were younger you will love this beauty. The Bootleg Canyon Flight-lines are some of the best zip-lines in the world, and they don’t suddenly stop at 20 feet either! These babies can get you upto an amazing 50mph with distances of 1150 – 2550 feet, now that’s what I call a zip-line! The actual experience takes you over 1.5 miles over a 2.5hrs time-frame so make sure you plan your day out and enjoy this unique form of adventure!

#11 Dinner In The Sky

If you are afraid of heights then I’m afraid you will have to move along, this is not for the weak of heart. Dinner in the sky is an amazingly unique twist on eating out and it really is a once in a lifetime opportunity (unless of course you are loaded and live in Vegas). What happens is you get a party of friends or family together, or even complete strangers if you want, then you all sit down in some really comfy race-style bucket seats, become attached by a high tension wire to the platform and you are then raised up in the air to a height of 150ft above the earth, scary stuff. To make thyis even more surreal in the middle of the platform is a waiter who will serve you throughout your time above the world, add to that the amazing ability to turn 180 degrees outwards ( so you are facing a massive drop) and you have a recipe for a truly memorable dinner party. Try this out, it will give you some great bragging rights. (You can also get married in the sky if this floats your boat).

#12 Las Vegas Sunrise Hot Air Balloon Ride

The state of Nevada is a beautiful place and it has some stunning scenery and sunsets, but something else it has is beautiful sunrises, and what better way to view them, than from the comfort of your very own Hot Air Balloon! Okay so you won’t outright own it but you will be able to hire it for viewing the remarkable sunrises. This can of course also be done in the evening should you want to see a sunset instead, but there is something so magical about seeing the sunrise especially by the flight of a Hot Air Balloon. If you have never been in a Hot Air Balloon, then now is your chance, plus you get to see the beautiful scenic views over the city of Las Vegas and the stunning reds, oranges and yellow colorings of the morning sky; outstanding.

#13 Elvis Wedding Chapel

Now everyone knows that Elvis has long since been associated with Las Vegas, he loved the place and the place loved him too, but he is back, and he’s got a license to wed. I know it is a little bit of a cliche but come one, its a bit of fun, well sort of, when I say its a bit of fun it really is, provided the person you are marrying is already your wife, girlfriend or fiancee, getting married to a complete stranger when drunk is a big no no, although admittedly it does happen all the time. So take heed young hedonistic males reading this, if you get drunk near a Vegas wedding chapel then you are asking for trouble, remember, what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas, unless you get married!

#14 CSI: The Experience At The MGM Grand

The saying goes, ‘ When in Rome, do as the Romans do’ so why not use that line of thinking to jump straight into the shoes of Gil Grissom and the team! The CSI Experience is said to be very realistic and quite an experience; there is a similar attraction to this in the UK at the Bullring in Birmingham, but this is on such a larger scale, you will find yourself completing some similar tasks that you find in the televised series but this time you are the one that has to solve the crimes, think you are up to it? Think you have what it takes? Then try it out and prove it, there is only one way to find out. This really is a great experience and I would recommend this to everyone who is a fan of the CSI Television show.

#15 Dive With Sharks At Shark Reef Aquarium At The Mandalay Bay Hotel Las Vegas

Diving with sharks is something a lot of people have seem interested in doing, I’d love to do it myself too, but this ias a little different. Yes they are real sharks, and yes you have to wear a real diving suit and mask but this is all inside a hotel! That may not be such a huge surprise to most of you, but here in England there are only two places you can see sharks; in huge aquariums and in the ocean, apart from that they are pretty much nowhere to be seen. I really like the idea that these hotels are so massive in size and structure that they can physically hold a huge aquarium, it just goes to show how immense Las Vegas really is compared to other places in the world.

#16 Experience The Other Las Vegas At The Springs Preserve

The Las Vegas Springs Preserve is almost 200 acres in size and is basically an institution for the culture, it was actually purpose built to commemorate the hisdtory of Las Vegas’ as well as trying to get the message across about the need to create a sustainable future. The Preserve is truly remarkable and unique, it even has the ability to hold outdoor concerts, have art gallery displays and it also features a museum, this is not your average nature reserve. So if you like history, nature and something other than the one arm bandits calling you for another dime then head to the Las Vegas Springs Preserve.

#17 Red Rock Canyon Off-Road Desert Hummer Adventure

Driving a Hummer is certainly not economical but it is one hell of a way to drive in style through the Red Rock Canyon! In this unique experience you can drive off-road throughout the rugged terrain in the comfort and shelter in one of the planets safest public vehicles, the only vehicle I can think of which would be safer is a tank, so it’s pretty safe to say you will be in good hands. The Red Rock Canyon, is a national reserve which is known for its interesting rock formations such as the Keystone Thrust, a unique array of sandstone peaks and rock walls. If you are a nature fan and want to get away from it all then this is the place to be, enjoy.

#18 Jubilee! At Bally’s Hotel and Casino

The Jubilee Show in Bally’s Hotel And Casino is the last surviving showgirl revue in the entire city of Las Vegas. Now in its 28th year of production this amazing entertainment show will give you a ton of memories and pleasure. With over 1,000 Costumes in the show, all designed by the world-famous Bob Mackie (who does most of Cher’s outfits) and Pete Menefee, I’m sure you will be amazed by every second. The opening number alone costs $3 million to produce and features almost 100 different live perfomers. If you come to Las Vegas make sure you come here to Bally;s Hotel And Casino, you’ll be missing out if you don’t!

#19 Red Rock Canyon Morning Horseback Ride with Breakfast

Have you ever seen the movie ‘City Slickers’ with Billy Crystal? Well if you loved that movie this may be right up your street! How would you like to travel around the Red Rock Canyon by horseback, think how amazing it would be to become an actual cowboy for the day! Here you will get a detailed tour of the Red Rock Canyon, with expert commentary throughout so you don’t miss a trick. Also you get to travel with some true to life bonafide wrangler-guides, and to top it all off there is a big old breakfast thrown into the mix. So you city slickers, what are you waiting for?

#20 Mini Baja Buggy Chase

If you are into your motor racing, and you know what Baja Racing is then you will be excited about this one. Not only can you travel through the desert in all manner of vehicles (see above for the Hummer experience) because you can now also complete a Mini-Baja race right here in Vegas. Okay so technically speaking it’s not so much a race as it is a heart thumping, mildly dangerous, adrenaline rushing ride in one of the most awesome buggy’s on the planet. If you fancy jumping the sand dunes and rocking the desert in a purpose built buggy then head over to Sun Buggy’s and get yourself a vehicle, you’ll love it!

#21 Blue Man Group At The Venetian Las Vegas

The Blue Man Group is one of America’s most famous all male show acts, and although it isn’t all that well-known in the UK it is something that should definitely be seen if you are out in Vegas. The blue Man Group are basically a creative organization that prides itself on the uniqueness of their acts and styles, dressed in black and with blue latex covering the whole of their heads, these wacky creative types run around the stage playing some great music and extraordinary comedy whilst at the same time covering the entire stage in paint through their amazing show. This is a show that is well into its second decade and it is still going strong if you want to check them out you can find them at the Venetian Hotel In Las Vegas.

#22 ATV Off-Road Desert Adventure

Another Motor-sport item here for you, riding ATV’s in the Nevada Desert! This is something all petrol heads will love, there is no speed limit, just open up that throttle and ride to your hearts content, you do need to be careful as there is a little danger involved, but if you are all about the action adventure holidays then you can really go overboard here. ATV stands for All Terrain Vehicle, and these babies are definitely made for any terrain, reaching speeds of up to 50mph in the desert you will really feel the sun on your back and the wind in your hair as you race your ATV across the sand dunes and rocky terrain of the desert. A truly remarkable experience for all that seek that adrenaline rush feeling.

#23 Las Vegas Tandem Skydiving

Sky diving as a sport has become very popular in the past decade, with many people opting to do jumps as a way to gain money for charities, a noble cause I must say. But if you have yet to feel the wind blowing against your face as you hurtle towards the earth at speeds of up to 80 mph then this is just what you have been waiting for! Tandem Skydiving in Las Vegas is something much more different to your average run-of-the-mill parachute jump, for starters you get to see all the way across the fantastic desert terrain as well as being able to see the city of Las Vegas in a way most don’t get to. This is not an experience for those who have a weak stomach so if you dislike heights you will want to take a pass, but believe me, this experience is worth having!

#24 Le Reve At Wynn Las Vegas

Le Reve is a show like no other, with fire throwing, amazing acrobatics, and water everywhere! Le Reve is a show that is a little bit of everything, and takes place at the Wynn in Las Vegas, the show takes place in a very unique and purpose-built aqua theater, which in itself is highly impressive. You will see the performers doing incredible and almost impossible feats of acrobatics and choreography, add this to the live music and you have got one of the best shows on earth! This really is a must see for anyone, no mater what your tastes are because this will rock your world, no question about it.

White water rafting in the Grand Canyon is an experience like no other, imagine being pulled through the river on nothing more than a plastic raft at the bottom of one of the biggest and most awe-inspiring natural wonders of the world! The Romance Package at the Venetian Hotel And Resort in Las Vegas. This nice little package that they have put together really is incredible, you will feel as though you are in a completely different country when you are taken into the Venetian grounds of the hotel, in true Venice style you can have your very own gondola ride (yes inside the hotel!). This really is an experience for those that want a little magical romance added to their trip so if this is you, then check out the Venetian Hotel And Resort in Las Vegas.

#28 See Cher Live At The Colosseum In Caesars Palace

Cher is one of the biggest hard hitters in Las Vegas, known for her fantastic music, and unbelievably inspiring concerts, Cher is still going strong more than 30yrs since starting her annual trips to Las Vegas. You can find her over at Caesar’s Palace, one of the most well-know as well as one of the largest hotels in the whole of Las Vegas. If you are a fan of Cher then you will not want to miss this extravaganza, sure you can see Cher in concert anywhere in the world, but in Las Vegas the budget goes bye-bye. No expense is spared as she goes through her amazing dance routines, special effects, wardrobe changes and of course her fantastic voice. This is a very memorable experience, I highly recommend it.

#29 Grand Canyon West Rim Deluxe Sunset Helicopter Tour

If you fancy taking a walk on the wild side then why not visit the heights and depths of the Grand Canyon by helicopter? The ride takes approximately 45mins each way to get there and back, and you will spend a good amount of time over the canyon itself. This is something for those of you that aren’t afraid of heights, as the experience is very much in your face. You can see all the way down to the bottom of the Grand Canyon and this is something that may disturb you if you are scared of heights. The experience is fantastic though, you get to travel by helicopter, which on its own makes you feel like a million dollars, then to top it all off you get to visit one of the most amazing sights in the world on top of this it’s actually at sunset too, so you will be able to take in some incredible sights, as well as a perfect sunset, all whilst traveling in style. Simply Awesome, you also get some very nice champagne for the trip too, just for good measure.

#30 Grand Canyon and Hoover Dam Day Trip from Las Vegas with Optional Skywalk

Now if you don’t like height, cannot drive or hire a car, but still want to visit the Grand Canyon, what can you do? Well the easy answer is take a coach trip there! Okay so it is a long haul over to the Grand Canyon but it is definitely worth it, the coach experience isn’t all that bad either, the coaches themselves are all in very good condition and there is the option of having a couple of drink on the way there and back should you feel the need to indulge a litte. Once there you will spend a good few hours over at the Canyon, which gives you enough time to look around, take photographs, ad get as close to the edge as possible without getting all emotional! You will also stop over at the Hoover Dam en route so if you feel like scaring yourself a little more you can take the optional sky-walk which is located at the Hoover Dam. This experience is great for those that want to be more conservative with their budget but still want a good time. Enjoy!
