Hikkaduwa (Hikka) Beach Festival

Hikkaduwa is a 2.5km stretch of Beach that is packed with restaurants serving the freshest seafood, souvenir shops, star-class hotels, even cheap guest houses and of course sun-kissed beaches and magnificent waves. previously associated with cultivation of coconuts, rice and cinnamon and the manufacture of lace and drum frames, Hikkaduwa is now a laid-back destination that tourists tend to fall in love with.



Hikka Fest is an annual Beach festival at Hikkaduwa, a tourist city in the southern coast of Sri Lanka. this festival has been happening annually from the year 2008, end of July or beginning of August for 3 days. Every year they have something different for the vast number of crowd that comes into this small city not so far away from the famous Galle fort.
The Hikkaduwa drummers truly set the stage on fire. This festival draws a lot of International musical artistes such as Yves Larock, Ben Davitt and the likes.
Other than the main festival, the small open clubs at Hikkaduwa provides awesome music and the perfect ambience suiting the festive mood.
Mambo's, Vibration and Top Secret are few places you should try out if you are a night owl who loves to party.



Hikkaduwa is also famous for it's chocolate rotties, Chicken and Ham rotties and many other flavoured rotties they sell.
There are Perahara's organized by the Buddhist people for you to enjoy the evenings as well with beautiful elephants dancers dressed up in traditional costumes and experts who are playing with fire balls that wlil not fail to amuse you.
