Fly private at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta (ATL) to avoid bad weather delays

Although losing its status as the busiest U.S. airport in 2018 to O’Hare, ATL has long held this title. In fact, although O’Hare facilitated more flights in 2018, Atlanta still has more passenger traffic.  Given this volume, the slightest variance in weather, and thereby schedule, can quickly trigger flight delays.

Thunderstorms are the culprit for most of Atlanta’s weather delays, occurring most frequently during the summer months.  Snow and ice are rare but crippling to this airport as they aren’t well-versed in handling such conditions.

Even during the best conditions, we avoid using ATL for private charters. Rather, our charter flights originate from Dekalb-Peachtree (PDK). Handling only private flights, this airport runs more smoothly and on-time.  While almost an hour north of ATL, while you are traveling by car we can get your aircraft ready so that you can be on your way once you arrive. Even closer than PDK is Fulton County (FTY – also called Brown Field). Just 20 minutes northwest of ATL, Fulton County is another private-only airport that can expedite quickly once ATL starts with its inevitable delays.
