San Jose’s

Once a center for agriculture, San Jose’s central location in the heart of the booming tech industry has catapulted it to become the Capital of Silicon Valley. One of the wealthiest cities in the world, San Jose has the most expensive housing market in the U.S. and is home to the most millionaires and billionaires per capita in the U.S. So it is no surprise then that San Jose is a frequent destination for private jet charters.

High-profile tech companies proliferate in San Jose; Adobe, Cisco Systems, eBay and PayPal are among the notable companies headquartered there. With its Cupertino headquarters adjacent to San Jose, Apple is now building an additional 40-acre campus in the city to accommodate 16,000 employees. Private charters allow executives leading these forward-thinking organizations to maximize their tightly packed schedules, working or resting en-route and arriving prepared to manage their important agendas.

Several airports welcome private charters to San Jose and the surrounding Silicon Valley. The most popular airport for private flights is San Jose International Airport (KSJC), a mere three minutes from downtown. Situated in the middle of the valley, it also provides convenient access to many of the tech companies with campuses in the surrounding area. Domestic charters can also fly into Reid-Hillview Airport (KRHV), 10 miles southeast of San Jose International and 10 minutes from downtown. With no commercial traffic, this airport can quickly expedite private flights.

Depending on your ultimate destination in the Silicon Valley, there are several other airport options for your private charter. Three miles north of Redwood City, home to such companies as Oracle, Box and Electronic Arts, San Carlos Airport (KSQL) allows domestic charter flights. Ten miles south of KSQL you’ll find Palo Alto Airport (KPAO), just two miles from the city of the same name. KPAO accommodates domestic charters and provides quick access to Stanford University as well as the myriad of high-tech companies housed in Palo Alto and nearby Mountain View. Seven miles south of KPAO is Moffet Federal Airfield (KNUQ), which also allows domestic charters and is just four miles from Mountain View and Google’s headquarters.

Beyond tech companies San Jose has much to offer, including hiking at the local state parks, wineries and its own NHL team, the San Jose Sharks. Nevertheless, tech reigns supreme in the area and it permeates the culture. If you are looking to be inspired by the minds of innovators, San Jose is a prime destination.
