Best Flying Foods

Sandwiches are great Flying foods

There are few things that I can think of that give you the munchies quite like flying. The air cabin crews and their dainty baskets of itsy bitsy snacks are no match for the appetite of many flyers. Flying foods are essential and most people know that you got to bring your own. Unless you are flying private jet charter of course, then you just send a list of your favorite snacks and it will be there waiting for you.

So what are the best flying foods?

Sandwiches

Who does not have a good hearty sandwich on their flying foods list? Stay away from the tomatoes or other things that may increase the possibility of having soggy bread. I mean soggy bread is the first sign of disaster to most sandwich lovers. Go for things like roasted eggplant and high quality cheeses. Get a sturdy bread too. Like a ciabatta or baugette. And remember diets are usually confined to earth, so go to flavor town when you are in the sky.

Nuts and Cookies

For some reason nuts are more appealing in-flight than potato chips. Perhaps they give you a better feeling, as they generally do, make sure to pack a good variety of nuts. Nothing screams flying heaven like a bag of home baked cookie goodness. Bake your favorites and appease those in-flight cravings.

Crackers and Cheese

Not too messy but very tasty. International flights generally have a decent selection of wines too and you will always be thankful you have your favorite cracker and cheese to love your wine with.

Non-Leafy Salads

Salads are the new bacon. Eh, probably not but we all love Salad. Big leafy greens are not fans of early douses of dressing. They tend to wilt and go soggy and un-appetizing. Pack a grain salad, like a Quinoa salad or a pasta salad, it will fill you and satiate your cravings.
