Airbus has released the list of what Airbuses will roughly cost in 2016 and heading into 2017. Note that there are probably added fees that come in to factor for customize options and deliveries.

The Cheapest

The cheapest aircraft in the Airbus range is estimated to cost 75.1 million dollars. That would be the Airbus A318. The A318 seats about 130 passengers, depending on the configuration. There are 69 of these planes in service.

The Most Expensive

The whale of the sky, the Airbus A380-800 is obviously the most expensive Airbus on the market. The cost of the Airbus A380-800 is 432.6 million dollars. Let that sink in, half a billion dollars. The Airbus A380 seats 525 passengers. Surprisingly though, demand for the A380 has been less than what Airbus had expected. Emirates Airlines is the largest user of the Airbus A380. Airbus have had major problems with delivering ordered Airbus A380’s with many orders of the massive plane simply going defunct. Virgin Atlantic and Qantas are two of the major airlines that had ordered the Airbus A380 but have not seen and will probably never see delivery on their orders.

Airbus is the leading supplier of aircraft in the world. To date they have supplied well over 16,000 aircraft which is a truly staggering amount. Every company that purchases aircraft en mass will continue to debate the pros and cons of the Airbus versus the Boeing. It is however becoming abundantly obvious that Airbus is becoming more and more prevalent in mid-range and in long-range fleets.

Customization could add between 3 and 8 percent of what it costs to actually purchase the plane and Airbus are very much beholden to fluctuations in commodity prices to ensure the stability of their costs. Either way if you have a half a billion dollars to spare, you can purchase the Airbus A380 and fly yourself and all of your 500 Facebook friends to a destination that can handle the jet.
