There are plenty of options of different sets of travelers. There are places which are perfect to relax in woods or sitting around the chilling water streams. At the same time, there are options with lot of adventure activities like camping, trekking, biking and rafting etc. Himachal is also rich in terms of culture and old architecture, so some of the interesting destinations are listed if you are interested in heritage.

Palampur is my favorite part in Himachal Pradesh because of various reasons and I intend to have my second home somewhere around Palampur. This whole region has lot of exciting places with diverse cultures and beautiful landscapes around Dhauladhar mountain ranges. Mcledoganj is probably the most popular destination in Kangra Valley and other places like Naddi, Baijnath, Kangra are frequently visited. Relatively less commercial Kangra Valley is full of surprises and if you intend to go to lesser known places and enjoy beautiful roads, this part of Himachal can be very interesting for you. Drive from Palampur to Baijnath is brilliant and road condition is excellent.

Deep you go in Shimla district more interesting things you find. Shimla itself a great destination, although it gets crowded as well. Dalhousie is a small town in Chamba region of Himachal Pradesh and easily accessible through Train till Pathankot. Peaceful hill station, just to relax. Surrounding places like Khajjiar, Kala Top Wildlife Sactuary, Dainkund, Chamba, Chamera Dam, Bharmour makes this whole region rich in terms of natural beauty. I have been Dalhousie plenty of times and always loved being there. Less commercial as compared to Shimla and Manali. And there are plenty of options around Dalhousie, where you can go and stay in Homestays.
