Memories Beach Khao Lak

We have been talking about Khao Lak for the past 8 years and this beach town has evolved to an exciting surfing destination of Thailand. One of the best places to surf in Thailand is the Memories Beach Khao Lak.

 Khao Lak has been a hidden gem for Europeans holiday goers for years as this part of Phang Nga is quiet and beautiful. Khao Lak is 90 minutes away from Phuket International Airport.

 For the past few years, the local communities as well as the local resorts arms up to promote this town as the Surfing town of Thailand. One of the most popular destination is the Memories Beach Khao Lak.

Surfing is not all year long affair in Khao Lak. The Khao Lak surfing season coincides with the monsoons of late-April through mid-November.

We stayed at La Vela Khao Lak during our recent visits and we visited Memories Beach a few times. During the off surfing season, Memories Beach offers a beautiful landscape of the Andaman Sea.

Now, you know that Memories Beach, Khaolak is one of the best beaches to learn surfing in Thailand. We can’t surf for sure but it doesn’t mean it will stop you for trying.​

If you need a beach wear or surf wear, there is an official RIPCURL Store at Memories Beach Khao Lak. Do check them out as they do offer discount from time to time. They open from 9 am to 6 pm daily.
