Santhiya Koh Yao Yai Resort The Teakwood Hotel

Santhiya Koh Yao Yai Resort The Teakwood Hotel

This is my second trip to Phang Nga Province in Thailand last year. Where is Phang Nga? It is just next to Phuket Island. To make things interesting, I visited and stayed at Santhiya Koh Yao Yai Resort and it is a Teakwood Hotel. The resort is made entirely of Teakwood as the owner is in the teakwood business.

Koh Yao Yai means Yao Yai Island and it is a small island minutes away from Phuket Island. It is part of the Phang Nga province and it is a very quiet island with a handful of resorts. The best resort of Koh Yao Yai is Santhiya Resort.

Kissing Island

They offer private boat transfer from Phuket to Koh Yao Yai resort. On the way, they will stop at the ‘kissing islands’ for photos and then straight to the resort. You can easily spot the island and the resort. Most of the rooms are located on the cliff and every room offers the beautiful seaview.

This eco luxury resort offers 56 teakwood pool villas and 170 deluxe rooms where most of the villas and rooms come with a panoramic sea view. All villa pools are filled with a certain concentration of purified seawater to align with international standards of saltwater swimming pools.

The “Seawater Pool Villas” offer added comfort by having its pools consisting of 100% seawater. This innovation blends in perfectly with the natural mountainous surrounding and offers a rare private stretch of beach frontage.

I stayed at one of the deluxe rooms that is entirely made of teakwood. The room is massive in size and it comes with a balcony that offers the sea view.

As mentioned earlier, every room offers the sea view and the deluxe room comes with a bathtub in the balcony.

At night, it is really peaceful here and what a great place for staycation, refresh and rejuvenate. This is definitely a great place for couples or honeymoon. I also spotted many brought their families chilling at the resort.

There are ‘buggies’ that can ferry you from the room to the restaurant or the private beach. There are many buggies at the resort.

Their facilities include a spectacular waterfall swimming pool, indulgent spas offering a range of pampering treatments and 7 world-class restaurants serving the absolute best in Thai and global cuisine.

On top of that, you can also request for island tour from the front desk, fees applied. It will be a half day island tour that includes visiting local food places, rubber plantation and fish farm visit. The island tour is conducted by Santhiya Koh Yao Yai resort.

Staying at Santhiya Koh Yao Yai Resort offers a memorable experience. The luxury hotel offers great service on top of its beautiful teakwood design and architecture. What they offer here is top notch and worth the money spent.

You can book the resort at their website: https://www.santhiya.com/kohyaoyai/ or Agoda at: https://www.agoda.com/santhiya-koh-yao-yai-resort-and-spa/hotel/phuket-th.html?cid=1538606
