Yulek Wan Tan Mee

This is one of the few places you can find me enjoying my food at least once in a month. Yulek Wan Tan Wee has been around for years and it is shifted to their own restaurant many years ago.

The family owned Yulek Wan Tan Mee opens daily except Tuesdays from 7.30 am to 4 pm. We usually go there for brunch or lunch as we stayed far from there now.

Parking is hard to find in that area so prepare to park further to walk over to the restaurant. You can also order the Wan Tan mee to the dim sum restaurant next door.

What we like about Yulek Wan Tan Mee for so many years is their noodles and their char siew. The texture of the egg noodles are springy or al-dente and it is well flavoured and tasty.

The wan tan mee usually comes with generous amount of char siew (caramelised pork belly). Their char siew is usually soft and tender in texture and it is like a perfect marriage with the noodles. You can also order their pork ribs if you want something different.

The wan tan is just minced pork meat but they do offer fried dumplings. Nothing special with their wan tan.

This is the Malaysian version of wan tan mee and you can’t find it in other countries even Singapore. The dried noodles are dark thanks to combination of different oil use, the sweet thick dark soy sauce and other sauces. The result is sweet and savoury flavour that will keep you coming for more.
